How to Become Pilot After 12th:
Majorly there are 2 ways to become a pilot after the 12th.
- Civil Aviation (Non-Military Aviation/ Commercial Pilot)
- Indian Defence Forces (Air Force)
Way 1: Civil Aviation / Commercial Pilot:
Pilots who fly passenger flights for commercial airlines are Commercial Pilots. They take the responsibility to fly passengers from one place to another safely.
There are a few eligibility points that are the same in all the institutes of India.
- The candidate should be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate should be unmarried.
- Candidates don't have any physical and mental health issues.
- Candidates can apply for a license at the age of 17 years
- Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 10+2.
How to Become Commercial Pilot After 12th:
Step 1: Those candidates who have passed 10+2 from any recognized board with subjects Maths and Physics can pursue a career as a pilot, The minimum age to apply for the pilot is 17 years.
Step 2: Medical fitness is important for a commercial pilot. Physical Health, as well as mental health, should be good for the candidate. There should not be any Mental illness or history of Mental illness. Candidates should have perfect eyesight of one eye i.e. (6/6) while the other eye can defect but it should be correctable.
Step 3: Candidates need to pass all the 3 rounds of the Pilot Aptitude Test which has 3 steps Written Examination, Aptitude Test, and Interview. Once all the stages are cleared a candidate will get a seat in the Institute of coveted pilot training of his/her choice.
Step 4: Initio CPL (Commercial Pilot License) training will be given to those candidates who have no prior flying experience. The course will last for 15-18 months of pilot training, there is a flight time of 250 hrs which a candidate needs to complete for becoming a commercial pilot. These fly hours will include instrument time, flight by night, and pilot in command.
Step 5: Before applying for airlines candidates need to apply for the DGCA Directorate General of Civil Aviation Exam and have to clear it with a minimum of 70% to secure the CPL ( Commercial Pilot License).

Aptitude Test to Become a Pilot:
Step 1: Written Examination
The first step to becoming a pilot is a Written Examination in which institutes check the knowledge of candidates in subjects like Maths, Physics, and English, It is necessary for all the students to study Physics and Mathematics is 10+2 who wishes to become pilot.
Step 2: Pilot Aptitude Test
The pilot Aptitude test is where they check the knowledge of students about aviation meteorology, aircraft and engine technology, navigation, and aircraft regulation. This exam is to check the technical knowledge of candidates regarding the field of aviation.
Step 3: Personal Interview and DGCA Medical Examination
After the Pilot aptitude test is passed candidates need to appear for a Personal Interview which will be conducted by the college authorities or by the official Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA) council.
Doctors will be assigned by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA) for the medical examination, candidates should make sure that their physical and mental health should be good.
When the candidates will pass in all of the 3 steps mentioned above they will get their student license, after getting a student's license the aspiring pilots are required to complete ground experience for at least 250 hours.
The license should be granted or not too many candidates will totally depend on the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) council, candidates need to go through an oral test which has to be clear in one attempt there will be no chance given to apply again.
Way 2:Indian Defence Forces (Air Force)

The defense license course is free anyone who meets the eligibility criteria can get the defense license for free. Pilot Course after 12th requires a good amount of money, Many institutes requisite an extensive amount of money for the pilot course after 12th. The fees for pilot courses differ from each Institute, as big as the institute the fees will increase. The average fees for the course after class 12th is 5,00,000 to 30,00,000 Fee structure may differ from institute to institute. The Airforce of India provides a free defense license to eligible candidates whereas CPL (Commercial Pilot License) is for 90,000 to 3,00,000.
Pilot Entrance Exam After 12th:
There are no. Entrance Exams in India for which a candidate can appear after class 12th Steps to Become a Pilot. There is IGRUA (Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi) Entrance Exam, Cadet Pilot Program Selection Test, and the NDA Entrance Test. IGRUA (Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi) Conducts an Entrance Examination every year for students who want to become pilots after the 12th. This exam involves 3 stages:

NDA ( National Defence Academy) Entrance Test
NDA (National Defence Academy) conducts an Entrance Exam for candidates who are willing to join National Defence Services. The exam is conducted twice a year, it is an offline Exam student who wants to become a defense pilot after 12th can appear for the exam. It is a must for candidates to pass 10+2 with Physics and Maths as the main subject.
There are two stages of the Exam:

Pilot Courses Ater 12th:

Pilot Courses after 12th with Commerce/Arts Background:
One of the main eligibility criteria for becoming a pilot is a candidate should be qualified 10+2 with Physics and mathematics. If anyone with Commerce or Arts background is passionate about flying aircraft and wants to become a pilot then he/she can pursue his/her dream.
