UPTET Exam 2019-20:

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a state level examination conducted for the recruitment of Primary and post-primary level teacher post in Uttar Pradesh schools. The conducting body of the UPTET exam in Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) which is governed by the state government of Uttar Pradesh. UPTET is a pen and paper-based test (offline mode) which is held once in a year, scheduled tentatively in the month of October.


There are 2 levels of UPTET -
  1. Primary Level 
  2. Upper Primary Level

Candidates who successfully qualify Paper-I can teach from Class I-V & who those students who qualify Paper-II can teach class VI-VIII. Qualified Candidates can teach in any Govt. or Private Schools. The exam will take place in 2 different shifts. All the applicants who wish to become a primary or upper primary level teacher in government school of Uttar Pradesh they need to appear for UPTET 2019

UPTET Exam 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The exam is conducted for the Primary and Post-Primary level of teaching posts. Candidates must carefully go through the eligibility criteria before filling the UPTET 2019 Application Form.UPTET eligibility is based on the educational qualification for the posts below mentioned.

UPTET 2019 Primary  (1st to 5th standard) teacher eligibility:
  • The Applicants must hold a graduate degree with 2 years in B.T.C training or B.Ed and also the applicant must have done the graduation in any stream and must score a minimum of 50% marks.
  • The applicants must have scored 50% marks in 12th standard and 4 years diploma in B.EL.ED.
  • The applicant should be graduate with 2 years in BTC training in Hindi or English
  • The applicant should be graduate with 2 years in BTC training in Urdu.
UPTET 2019 Post-Primary (6th to 8th standard) teachers eligibility:
  • Applicant must be a graduate or postgraduate from the recognized institute NCTE with 50% of marks.
  • Applicant should be a graduate with 2 years in BTC training.
  • Applicant should score 50% marks from the recognized university or institute and also should have 2 years of B.Ed diploma or
  • The candidate should have 50% marks in 12th and 4 years of diploma in B.EL.ED.
  • The candidate should have 50% marks in 12th and 4 years of diploma in B.S.C.D or
  • If the candidate belongs to any of these categories like SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-serviceman with 45% of marks.
UPTET 2019 Eligibility based on Age limit

Candidates willing to apply for UPTET 2019 must be above 18 years and less than 35 years of age.

UPTET 2019 Eligibility based on Nationality
  • The applicants belonging to Bhutan/Tibet/Nepal are also eligible for the UPTET 2019.
  • Candidates must be a citizen of INDIA.
  • If any candidate willing to improve the performance can fill the application form, and the UPTET certificate is valid for a period of 5 years.
UPTET 2019 Important Instructions:
  • The applicants who have a diploma in special education or D.ED is provided training for 6 months.
  • There is 5% marks relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
  • Candidates who possess a diploma from NCTE/RCI will be given preference.
UPTET 2019 Exam Center:

Students appearing for the test are requested to cooperate with the conducting authority in order to conduct the exam in a smooth manner. Hence, the board requests the students to abide by all the rules and regulations, including the documents they are as asked to bring to the centre.

  • Admit Card: Candidates must mandatorily bring the UPTET 2019 Admit Card to the exam hall without which the entry will be denied.
  • Start early: Reach the examination centre 45 minutes before the commencement of the test.
  • Leaving the exam hall: The candidates should leave the hall, only after completion of the exam and no candidate is allowed to leave before the prior time of the completion of the exam.
  • Extra timing: No extra time is allowed to a candidate in the exam, the candidate should complete on or before the given time for the exam.
  • Late Entry: The Exam authority will not allow the candidates coming late to the exam(even after 5 minutes).
  • Documents: The candidates are not allowed to bring any type of material or document expect mentioned.
