JEE Main 2019

JEE Main Exam 2019 - Joint Entrance Examination (2019) is an All India Engineering Entrance examination which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Earlier the exam was organised by the Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE).

JEE Mains and JEE Advanced organise this examination The exams are of the objective pattern.JEE Main 2019 Application Form filling process ended in the last week of  September. The online form was available on the official website of NTA and JEE Main 2019 as well.

The examination is conducted twice a year. The first phase of JEE Main 2019 is scheduled in online mode from January 06 to January 20 in online mode and the second phase is scheduled from April 06 to April 20. Applicants who secured a minimum of 75% marks in intermediate (65% for SC/ ST division), can only resemble for this exam.

JEE Main provides two papers, Paper-1 and Paper-2. Applicants may opt for either one of them or for both of them. Both papers carry multiple choice questions. Paper 1 of JEE Main (B.E./B.Tech) is a gateway to various IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and is organised in both online and offline mode. 2nd paper is for admission in B.Arch and B.Planning courses and is conducted offline only.

JEE Main, unlike JEE Advanced, has an established exam composition and is not directed to change every year. Paper-1  consists of a total of 30 Multiple Choice Questions from each of the three subjects (Maths, Physics and Chemistry). There is negative marking for each inaccurate answer and 4 marks are granted for an accurate answer and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.

JEE MAINS 2019 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

According to JEE Mains 2019 eligibility criteria, an applicant must be born on or after October 1, 1993, and there is a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/PWD. The eligibility criteria of JEE Mains 2019 will specify the age limit, academic qualifications, nationality and other mandatory requirements which must be met by all the appearing candidates.

  • The applicants need to go through certain parameters to check eligibility criteria:

NOTE:

  1. The exam organising body allows candidates with 40% or more disability to avail the assistance of a Reader.

  2. Percentage of various categories are: SC (15%), ST (7.5%) OBC-NCL (27%), and Open Category (50.5%). Including all these categories, 5% horizontal reservation is given for PwD candidates.
  3. Candidates applying for B.E./B. Tech should have considered Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology while candidates applying for B. Arch/B. Planning should have studied Mathematics in their +2 level. IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs, applicants need to have an aggregate.
