Indian Army 2024:

Indian Army Exams are conducted to recruit eligible and aspiring candidates at various posts of the Indian Army like soldiers, nurses, officers, engineers, judges, etc. The recruitment for these posts existing in the Indian Army is done for two types of services which can be basically classified into two parts- (i) Permanent commission (ii) Short Service Commission.

The posts for permanent commission are granted through the Indian Military Academy for the candidates who come in between the age of 19 to 24 years of age. The duration of service under such posts is until the working officer’s age of retirement. The candidates can apply for the exams like NDA, University Entry schemes (through 10+2 TES) in order to acquire a position for such posts.

Whereas, the posts for Short Service Commission are granted by the Officers Training Academy for the candidates who come in between the age of 19-25 years of age. Eligibility Criteria

  • Soldier General Duty:- The minimum qualification required is that the candidate must have passed his/her class 10th exam with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks and at least 33% marks in each subject. The age limit for the respective candidates must lie between the age of 17.5 to 21 years. 
  • Soldier Tradesman:- The minimum qualification required is that the candidate must have passed his/her class 10th with no stipulation of scoring a particular minimum aggregate but they require at least 33% marks in each subject. The age limit for the respective candidates must lie between the age of 17.5 to 23 years. 
  • Soldier Clerk:- The minimum qualification required is that the candidate must have passed his/her class 12th exam with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks and at least 50% marks in each subject. The age limit for the respective candidates must lie between the age of 17.5 to 23 years. 
  • Soldier Technical:- The minimum qualification required is that the candidate must have passed his/her class 12th exam with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks and at least 40% marks in each subject. The age limit for the respective candidates must lie between the age of 17.5 to 23 years. 
  • Soldier Nursing Assistant:- The minimum qualification required is that the candidate must have passed his/her class 12th exam with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks and at least 40% marks in each subject. The age limit for the respective candidates must lie between the age of 17.5 to 23 years.

How to join the Indian Army After 10th?

  • Posts available:- The candidates who intend to join the Indian Army Exam after 10th can apply for the post of Soldier General Duty and Soldier Tradesman. 
  • Age Limit:- The candidates applying for the post of Soldier General Duty are required to be between the age of 17.5 years and 21 years. And, the candidates applying for the post of Soldier tradesman are required to be between the age of 17.5 years and 23 years.
     
  • Minimum qualification required:- The candidates applying for the post of Soldier General Duty are required to have the minimum qualification of class 12th and those candidates who are applying for the posts of soldier tradesman are required to have the minimum qualification of class 10th. The candidates who have pursued the ITI course can be eligible for applying for this post even after completing their class 8th (for some trades).
     
  • Recruitment/ selection process:-  The Indian Army recruitment for the post of Soldier General duty is done through the ZROs (Zonal recruitment office) or ARO (Army Recruiting Office). The steps involved in the selection process include registration, physical fitness test, document verification, medical test, CEE (Combined Entrance Test), and publication of the merit list. The selection process of the Soldier tradesman includes the steps like the submission of the online application, physical fitness test.

How to join the Indian Army after 12th?

NDA Exam:- The candidates who want to join the Indian army after the 12th can appear in the NDA exam in order to be selected as commissioned officers in the Indian Army. The NDA Exam is conducted by UPSC which takes place at 2 stages where the first stage is the written exam and the 2nd stage is the SSB Interview. 

CEE:- The CEE Exam is conducted in order to select the eligible candidates for the Indian Army for the various posts like soldier Clerk(storekeeper), Soldier Technical, and Soldier Nursing Assistant. These posts are available for the recruitment of the students after their 12th. 

Eligibility for Indian Army:

The eligibility criteria for the Indian Army Exam for the various posts through CEE (Common entrance exam) Exam is based upon the aspect of minimum qualification required and age limit to appear for the respective exam. Here are the respective criteria are given below:-

Eligibility criteria for candidates Applying after 10th

  • The candidates can apply for two posts in the Indian Army which are Soldier General Duty and Soldier Tradesman, right after the 10th. The minimum qualification required for the posts of Soldier General Duty and Soldier Tradesman is that they must have passed their class 10th exam. The minimum aggregate required for Soldier General Duty is 45% marks and a minimum of 33% in each subject and there is no stipulation of securing aggregate marks for the post of the soldier Tradesman but they are required to have scored at least 33% marks in each subject.
  • The minimum age limit required for the soldier’s General duty lies between the age of 17.5 years to 21 years and that required for the Soldier tradesman is 17.5 years to 23 years. 

Eligibility Criteria for Candidates Applying after 12th  

  • The Indian Army posts available for the candidates applying after their 12th are Soldier Clerk (Store Keeper), Soldier Technical, and Soldier Nursing Assistant. The minimum qualification required for the post of Soldier Clerk is that the candidate is required to have completed their 10+2 with the minimum aggregate of 60% marks and 50% marks in each subject. The candidates applying for this post are required to be between the age of 17.5 years to 23 years. 
  • The candidates who are applying for the post of Soldier Technical are required to have completed their 10+2 with the minimum aggregate of 50% marks and 40% marks in each subject. The age of the respective candidate should lie between 17.5 to 23 years. 
  • The candidates who are applying for the posts of Soldier Nursing Assistant are required to have completed their 10+2 with the minimum aggregate marks of 50% and they are required to have secured 40% marks in each subject. The stipulated age limit for this post is in between 17.5 years to 23 years. 
Indian Army Application Form:

The candidates who want to join the Indian Army can appear in the CEE exam with respect to the preference of the posts they are applying for. The candidates can refer to the official guidelines for filling the Indian Army Application Form with respect to the CEE exam.
