GP RATING COURSE:
GP Rating stands for the General Purpose Rating course. It is a 6-month long course. After the completion of this course, the applicant can join the Merchant Navy ships as a Deck or Engine crew.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicants must have passed with an aggregate of 40% marks in 10th Standard/SSLC/SSC/Matriculation from a recognized Board or a candidate must have given an equivalent examination from a recognized Board with Science and Mathematics as subjects and also have scored a minimum aggregate of 40% marks in English subject
AGE LIMIT:
The candidates must have completed its 17 ½ Years of age and should be below 25 Years of age
The deck rating course is a 6-month course. Students who have passed the 10th standard (with mathematics, science, and English subjects) are eligible to pursue this course. This course focuses on deck training only. After the completion of this course, one may join merchant navy ships as part of their deck crew.

This program mainly focuses on engine training only. After the completion of this course, a candidate can join merchant navy ships as part of their engine crew.
