This Three-years course B.Sc in nautical science is basically an undergraduate course that is approved by the Director-General of Shipping and director-general of shipping reside under the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.

Job description: Marine superintendent is major responsible for the safe and economical running of the vessels in an efficient mode and under his control. The main duty and responsibilities of the Marine superintendent included planning and the execution of the docking and shipyard repair work and among others.
What to do after the course completion:
B.Sc in nautical science is a 3years program that has been divided into six semesters. After finishing up this course, Candidates are required to go one-year-long sea service, and after the sea service and clearing the oral examination, the candidate can obtain the second mate’s foreign-going certificates of competency. This certificate will enable candidates to hold the post of navigation officer in the Merchant Navy.
Even getting this position, a candidate can climb in an upward direction into their career ladders. After completion of an 18-month service as a navigation officer, candidates are required to clear the written and oral examination. one could obtain the first mate’s foreign-going certificates of competency and after 12 months of sea service on the position of chief Mate and clearing the written exam as well as the oral examination, candidates can obtain the degree Master’s foreign-going certificates of competency.
