DCH Course: Diploma in Child Health is the study of disease, disorders, and specific health issues related to the growth and development of a young child. Students will learn about childhood Diseases, Infectious diseases, Nutrition, Fluids and Electrolytes, Pediatric and Neonatal Therapeutics Growth and Development, Clinical Epidemiology, Basic Science and Laboratory Medicine, Respiratory systems, and Emergency Pediatric Services.

DCH Course:

A diploma in child health course is designed for the individuals to gain knowledge and understand the specialty of medicines.  This course provides basic and in-depth knowledge regarding child health care in order to fulfill the requirement of the power of concentration and power of confidence in young individuals. This field is suitable for those students who are willing to serve mankind and want to learn professional experience in this field. Through a diploma in child health, an individual will be able to improve his/her mental ability, knowledge, and aptitude. Under diploma in child, health focus is on practical and theoretical aspects of the medical subjects like laboratory medicine, basic science, clinical epidemiology, childhood diseases, social pediatrics, pediatric and neonatal therapeutics, computer in pediatrics, growth, and development, fluids and electrolytes, nutrition, infectious disease, emergency pediatric services, respiratory system, and genetics. 

Diploma in child health course is a 3-year program for the students who have passed out from class 12th and a 2-year program for the students who have bachelor's degrees. The admission process for a diploma in child health for undergraduate students is based on the marks that have been scored in the class 12th and for graduate students, admission is based on the marks that have been scored in MBBS degree. After completing the diploma course individuals can be hired as nutrition specialists, associate professors, sports nutritionists, personal physicians, and nutrition coordinators. 

The diploma in child health focuses on a wide range of health, illness, and wellness. It allows an individual to understand health from population-based, behavioral, and biological perspectives. The average fee structure for the DCH Course Fee is INR 6,000 to 1,28,800 lakhs. The fee structure of a diploma in child health varies from college to college. Each college has its rules and norms regarding the fee structure for the diploma in child and health.

DCH Eligibility Criteria:

We have mentioned the eligibility criteria for the diploma in the child health course. Students who are seeking a diploma course in child health are advised to go through the eligibility criteria for the diploma in child health. 

  • For undergraduates - students must have completed 10+2 level in science stream (with biology subject) from a recognized educational board to be eligible for applying for the diploma in health child.

  • For postgraduates - students who are pursuing a diploma in child health course after graduation in MBBS then the duration of the DCH is 1 to 2 years.
  • The diploma in child health course consists of 2 or 4 semesters.
