D.Pharm Course: The diploma in Pharmacy Course also known as D.Pharma Course is an undergraduate two-year, full-time diploma level course for aspirants who wish to pursue a career in the field of medicine. It provides the basic requirement to become a registered pharmacist in India. It is a career-oriented program in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. The aim of this course is to equip students with the necessary entry-level knowledge to be able to work in pharmacies and hospitals. This course prepares students to work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in a government or private chemist, hospital, and other pharmacy-related fields.

D.Pharm Course is an entry-level course that acts as a foundational course for students who wish to pursue higher studies in any related field, in India and Abroad. The field of pharma is becoming an increasingly competitive industry for science students since the opportunity and scope this field provides are numerous and the pay is good.

Eligibility Criteria of D.Pharm Course 2024: 

  • Candidates must have passed their 10+2 Class from a recognized board with aggregate marks of 50%, in the science stream. 
  • SC/ST/OBC candidates need to score a minimum of 45% aggregate marks instead. 

That is the basic requirement for any student to be eligible to gain admission. 

Admission Form of D.Pharm Course 2024:

Admission into these courses is based on an entrance exam that is conducted by the government and private institutions, often followed by a personal round of interviews where the general aptitude is tested with regards to the course.

Some institutes, however, also conduct direct admission (Merit-based) based on the students’ performance in 10+2 classes.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or must be in their final year in Bachelor’s. 

CPMT (Combined Pre-Medical Test)

Candidates must pass their 10+2 in the Science Stream (PCB/PCM/PCBM). They must have 50% marks aggregate.

PMET (Punjab Medical Entrance Test) 

Candidates must have passed from their 10+2 with an aggregate of 50% marks and 40% for SC/ST.

D.Pharm Course Duration and Syllabus 2024:

The duration of the course is two academic years, with each academic system spread into 180 working days and 500 hours of practical training experience conducted within three months.

There is an examination held twice each year. The examinations are of written and practical format, including oral. The exams are of three hours each, and any candidate that fails in any subject shall re-appear. He/She must score a minimum of 50% marks in each subject. 

D.Pharm Scope in India 2024:
