MPharma in Pharmacology Course is a two-year postgraduate program divided into four semesters. It covers the basic concepts of pharmacology, such as:
Mpharm Course is the science related to the effects and actions drugs or pharmaceuticals have on biological entities. Their effects, level of toxicity, and side effects are all included in the study of pharmacology.
It is an advanced study of CNS disorders, such as epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, drug abuse, cardiovascular diseases, etc. The research-based subjects are on topics such as oncology, fertility, infertility, obesity, etc.
Pharmacology is further divided into two systems of study:
Pharmacokinetics is the branch of pharmacology that is concerned with the movement of drugs in the body. It takes into account the physiological, biochemical, and molecular effects the drugs have on biological organisms. It is mainly concerned with the distribution, absorption, and discretion of drugs within the body.
Pharmacodynamics is the branch of pharmacology that is concerned with the effects of drugs and their mechanism on the body. Some of the fields that are also covered and related to pharmacology are the field of Toxicology and Therapeutics.
The universities and colleges providing the M.Pharma Pharmacology course may differ in their admission processes. Some universities give admission based on the scores students attain in entrance exams, while some give admission based on marks scored in their Bachelor’s. It depends on specific universities and colleges.
Candidates need to pass an entrance exam for admission to most colleges and universities. Most institutes conduct their own entrance exams. The admission process usually includes the selection of candidates based on their marks in the entrance exam, followed by a round of personal interviews and counseling or group discussion.
