OTET 2021:

Odisha Teachers Eligibility Test (OTET) is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Cuttack to select the candidates for the post of the teachers for Classes I to VIII in government, private aided, and private unaided in the state of Odisha. It is basically a qualifying exam and the applicants who clear this exam will get the eligibility for Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) held by the state government.

To work as a teacher for classes 1 to 8  in private schools across the state (Odisha) qualifying OTET is mandatory. The OTET Exam 2021 Exam comprises two levels: Primary level and Upper primary level. The exam is laid down by certain rules and regulations under central regulatory authorities. The aspiring applicants can go through the registration process, after checking out the eligibility criteria.

About OTET 2021: OTET Exam is conducted by the board of secondary education, Odisha. This stands for the Odisha teacher eligibility test and this test is conducted for the appointment of the teacher in the government, private and private aided college, and the other government school of the Odisha for the class 1st to 5th and class 6th to 8th  standard. Clearing OTET 2021 will not result in a direct job but it will make candidates eligible to get employed in the education sector.

Eligibility Criteria for the OTET 2021:

There are the following eligibility criteria for applying in the OTET Exam which is given below.

  • Candidates must hold the citizenship of India
  • Candidates should have the domicile of Odisha
  • Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2 years of diploma in elementary education  or 
  • Higher Secondary with at least 45% of marks and 2 years of diploma in elementary education in accordance of the NCTE or
  • Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4 years of a bachelor of elementary education or 
  • Higher Secondary with at least  50% marks and 2 years of diploma in elementary education or 
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and one year of bachelor in education
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and one year of bachelor in education in accordance with the NCTE regulation issued from time to time in this regards
  • Graduation with one year of B.Ed in special education
  • Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4 years bachelor in elementary education or
  • Higher secondary with at least 50% marks and 4 years B.A/B.Sc/B.Ed etc. 
  • There is no upper age limit for this exam.

Application fee for the OTET 2021 Exam:

OTET 2021 application fee for the general category candidates is Rs 500 whereas Rs 300 for the reserved category candidates like SC/ST/PWD.

The process to fill the OTET application form:

Once the applicants found themselves suitable for the OTET 2021, they can start to fill the application form for the exam of OTET 2021. This application form includes the following things which need to be ready in advance before filling the application form which are:

Personal information:

Personal information consists of name, date of birth, caste, parents name, etc. this section also together some other kinds of information like scanned photograph and signature in the appropriate dimension and candidates are also required to enter payment reference number which has got from the SBI.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates are required to select the training status, paper opted for the test, and the language offered for the modern Indian language subjects

Educational qualification:

In this section, candidates are required to fill in their academic details like the name of the university, mark scored, division, total marks etc.

Address:

In this section, candidates are required to enter permanent and correspondence addresses.

Declaration page:

On the declaration page, the entire information entered by the applicants is going to be displayed. Candidates got to check the data completely and click on the final submit button if all the necessary details are correct. In case the information found wrong, go back into the previous section and edit it. One thing needs to clear that once the data is submitted, no changes are allowed in the existing data.

OTET Pattern:

There will be 150 questions for the paper-1 and 150 marks are allocated to all the questions which means one question is of 1 mark. There is no negative marking for this exam.

OTET Admit Card:

Students need to download the admit card for the OTET Exam 2021. For downloading the admit card, candidates are required to visit the official website of the board and using their registration number, download the OTET Admit Card which is necessary to carry at the time of the examination. Students are required to carry a photo ID proof along with the admit card

OTET Exam Answer key:

OTET Exam Answer Key along with the OMR sheet will be released by the board after conducting the OTET Exam. The link will be present on the official website and students are required to download the answer key of the OTHER exam using their registration number and match the answer with the answer key.

OTET Exam Result:

OTET Result will be displayed on the official website. Candidates are required to visit the official website to check their result status. Students can read their results using their registration number as the login ID and date of birth as the password.

OTET Exam 2021 Centres:

BSE Odisha has yet not released any details regarding OTET 2021 Exam centers. However, candidates can check complete details about their allotted OTET 2021 exam center on their respective admit cards.

It may be noted that once a test center is allotted to a candidate it cannot be changed under any circumstances. Regarding the same, the official website informs, “The change of examination center is not permissible.”
