MNS Exam Notification 2023:

Military Nursing Service Exam 2023 is a national-level entrance exam conducted by DGMS (Directorate General of Medical Services) to offer admissions in BSc. Nursing course is a 4-year degree program offered in the field of Nursing. There are only 220 seats available for admissions in the six Military Nursing colleges located in Kolkata, Pune, Asvini, Lucknow, Bengaluru, and New Delhi. This exam is held for providing admissions to only female candidates. Therefore only female candidates can apply for the MNS vacancy 2023. Last year the MNS 2023 exam was conducted on 28th July 2021 and the result was declared on 16 August 2021. This year, the exam is expected to be held earlier or before the month of August. MNS Exam 2023: Key Highlights

  • The Military Nursing Service Exam 2023 is also known as Indian Army BSc. Nursing Exam 2023 is expected to be held in the month of July or August. Only female candidates are eligible to apply for this exam.
  • The candidates who have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology can apply for the Military Nursing Service 2023 exam.
  • After getting admission to BSc. nursing course offered by Army Colleges of India, all the candidates will have to sign a bong/agreement to serve in the Military Nursing Service. Once the candidate completes her nursing training (after 4 years), she will be granted the Permanent or Short service commission in the MNS under the terms and conditions of the Indian Military.

Military Nursing Service 2023 Eligibility Criteria

MNS Exam is also called the Indian Army Nursing Exam, it is a national level entrance exam conducted to offer admission to a 4-year BSc Nursing program offered by the Army Medical Colleges. Please note that only female candidates are eligible to apply for the Indian Army Nursing exam 2023. Every year DGMS conducts this exam to offer admission to 220 female candidates in the BSc. Nursing course and their selection are solely based on their score in the written exam followed by a Personal interview. The authorities have not released any official notification of Indian Army BSc. Nursing Exam 2023 yet. But don't worry, we will update the notification as soon as it is released on the official website of the Indian Army.

The MNS Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria is set by the examination authority DGMS. To appear in the Indian Army BSc Nursing 2023 exam,  all the candidates must have to fulfill all the eligibility requirements as stated below:

  • Education Qualification required for MNS Exam 2023: The candidate must have completed her Higher Secondary Education and passed the HSC board exams (10+2) in the first attempt with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany/Zoology, and English as main subjects with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the exams. She must have completed her 10+2 as a regular student from a recognized board, statutory body, university/examination body. Candidates who haven't completed their higher secondary education but appearing in the last year of the qualifying examination during the current academic session can also apply for the Military Nursing Service Exam 2023 on a provisional basis but please note that the selected candidates will have to submit the proof of passing the qualifying examination with all the mandatory subjects. In case of failing to present proof, the candidate will be disqualified and his/her seat will be given to the candidate next in line.
  • Nationality: The candidate must hold the citizenship of India and should be Indian Nationals.
  • MNS Exam Age Criteria: The age of the applicant must fall between the scale of 17 years to 25 years. In other words, the candidate's date of birth should be between 1st Oct. 1997 to 30th Sept. 2005.
  • Physical Fitness: The candidate must be at least 152 cm tall. If the candidates belong to Garhwal, Kumaon, Gorkhas, or the North-eastern region, then the minimum height requirement is 148 cm. Physical fitness will be determined as per standards applied by the Commission in Armed forces. After the personal interview, the candidates will have to go through a medical examination in which an X-Ray examination of the Chest and Ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis will be done to ensure that the candidate meets all the medical fitness requirements.
  • Marital Status: Only unmarried, divorcee, widows or legally separated females are eligible to apply for the exam.

MNS Exam 2023: Selection Criteria 

The selection procedure of Indian Army BSc. The nursing Exam is quite complex. The applicant has to go through four major phases:

(i) Computer-based examination- All the Military Nursing Service exam 2023 applicants will have to appear in a computer-based examination, it will be an objective type exam and all the questions will have MCQ options, The candidate will have to choose the right answer from the given options. This exam will be of a total of 150 marks and a total of 90 minutes will be given to the candidate to complete their exam. It will consist of three sections which are General English, General Intelligence, and Science ( Biology, Chemistry, and Physics). Each section will have 50 questions and each question will carry 1 mark. There shall be no negative marking scheme in the Military Nursing Service Exam 2023.

(ii) Personal Interview- The candidate who will pass the Computer-based examination will be called for a Personal Interview round. The interview will carry a weight of 100 marks. 

(iii) Medical Examination- After the personal interview round, the candidate will undergo a medical examination. In this medical examination, an X-Ray examination of the Chest and Ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis will be done to ensure that the candidate meets all the medical fitness requirements. Once the medical examination is done, the candidates will be declared FIT or UNFIT for the Military Nursing Services and will be informed about their medical status soon. They will also be informed about the procedure of obtaining for Appeal/Review medical board by the President of Selection Medical Board (SMB).

(iv) Final selection on the basis of Merit List-The final selection of the candidates for Military Nursing Service will be based on the combined merit of Computer-based test (MNS Exam 2023), Personal Interview, and Medical examination of the candidate. Also, the seat allotment is also a subject to the availability of seats, candidate's choice, vacancy in the army medical college, and reservation criteria.

Note: The reserved seats will be filled by the candidates belonging to the SC/ST category or by the candidates possessing NCC "C" certificates on the basis of their rank in the general merit list. If the SC/ST/NCC "C" candidates are not available to fill the reserved vacancies, the same will be filled up by the candidates from the General Merit List.
