NIOS Board 12th Exam 2024: The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is an autonomous organization, formed by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.NIOS offers General and Academic Courses at the Secondary and the Senior Secondary levels. Besides this, NIOS also offers vocational, community-oriented, and life experience courses. The NIOS is also known as the On-Demand Examination or the ODE.
The NIOS Board 12th exam 2024 is a novel approach in which the examination will be held irrespective of the time frame and the students can appear for the exams as per their wish. The question papers will be prepared in Hindi and English only. Candidates who want to answer the question papers in their regional medium will have a choice to do so.
The National Institute of Open Schooling conducts its 12th Board exams twice a year. The exams are held in the months of March/April and October/November sessions. The exams are held in several languages that include Hindi, English, Urdu, Bengali, Tamil, Punjabi, Oriya, and Sanskrit. The minimum age for admission to NIOS 12th Board exam 2024 is 15 years and the exams are held on the latest NIOS syllabus.

Eligibility for NIOS 12th Exams:
- Candidates should be at least 15 years of age.
- Candidates must qualify for the Secondary (Class 10th) exams from a recognized Board.
- Candidates must have a Certificate (proof) of the Secondary examination from a NIOS recognized Board.
- Candidates must get enrolled with the NIOS.
- Candidates must have valid address proof.
- Candidates must have 2 recent passport size photographs.

Categories of the NIOS 12th Board Exam:
NIOS 12th Application form:
The Application form is available on the official website and interested students can register themselves with the official website. The Senior Secondary exams are conducted twice a year in 2 Blocks. The first Block takes place in the months of April/May while the second Block takes place in the months of October/November. After registering with the official website, candidates have to fill in the application form with the correct details and submit the application fees online. Candidates must submit valid documents and recent passport-size photographs along with the Application form.
NIOS 12th Time Table:
The National Institute of Open Schooling 12th Board exams are conducted in 2 stages: April/May and October/November. Candidates who have registered for the exams can download the timetable from the official website. The NIOS Date Sheet/Time Table will have the dates for both Theory and Practical exams. The exams will be held in different batches and the total number of candidates in each batch will depend on the capacity of each exam center. The Practical exams will be held in Institutes accredited by the NIOS.
NIOS 12th syllabus:
Candidates appearing for the NIOS exams can download the syllabus for the Theory and Practical Exams from the official website. NIOS has made it mandatory that each candidate must appear for 5 subjects. Apart from the mandatory 5 subjects, candidates can appear for additional 2 subjects by payment of INR 750/per subject as the fee deposit. The minimum pass percentage of the NIOS 12th exams is 33%. Candidates must qualify for all 5 compulsory subjects and any one of the additional subjects for being declared pass in the NIOS Senior Secondary exams.
NIOS 12th Admit Card:
The National Institute of Open Schooling will release the Admit Card on the official website. The NIOS 12th class Admit Card 2024 for the Theory and the Practical Exams will be released separately before the exams. The Admit Card is the most important document that the candidate must carry to the exam hall. The NIOS 12th Admit Card contains important details like the name of the candidate, roll number of the candidate, date of birth of the candidate, exam date, and exam time. Along with the Admit Card, it is mandatory for the candidates to carry important documents as valid ID proof. The Admit Card also contains a set of instructions that the candidates must follow at the exam centre.
NIOS 12th Result:
Candidates who have appeared for the NIOS Board 12th Exams can check their results by logging in to the official website. The results will be available on the website as well as on Digilocker. Candidates who have appeared for the NIOS 12th exams can also check their results via SMS. Candidates who are not satisfied with their NIOS 12th Board results can apply for revaluation of the answer sheets. It is mandatory to pay the revaluation fee of INR 300 per subject. Candidates who want their answer sheets to be rechecked must apply for the same within 15 days of the declaration of the NIOS 12th Result 2024. Candidates who could not pass one or more subjects in the exam can reappear for the NIOS 12th Boards for improvement of marks. Candidates have to pay a mandatory fee for each subject of the improvement exam.
