Apart from this large number of streams. Students mainly focus on some particular streams. These streams have more opportunities than other branches. So, they become the core branches. We mainly focus on these branches.

B.Tech Civil Engineering: In this branch of B.Tech course, you will study about the designing of different types of static structures and their materials. You learn to design bridges, buildings, roads, dams, etc. To prepare these components you also need to study different types of materials. Like concrete, refractories, etc. In this course you will study all the principles which are required to prepare an artificial structure which serves a purpose.

Application of Civil Engineering: You will require a civil engineer to design dams, Bridges, Buildings, Roads, etc. These are structures which generally bear force.

B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering: This branch deals with the study, designing, and testing of computer programs and applications. In this course you will study about all the subjects which teach you principles and concepts related to computer programming. You will learn how to design a software, how to test it. And how to diagnose it. Today the IT industry has reached to higher limits

B.Tech Electrical Engineering: Electrical engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering. This branch gives you specialization in the field of Electrical components and power generation through electrical energy. You will also study about different principles to design electrical circuits and study electrical devices in this B.Tech course. Today, electrical energy is the most useful form of energy. So, to use it efficiently and conserve it, every organisation which deals with electrical energy needs an electrical engineer.

B.Tech Mechanical engineering: Mechanical engineering is also one of the oldest engineering branches. In fact, in old days engineering was synonymous with mechanical engineering. This course gives you deep knowledge about the structure and function of various machines and mechanisms. You will also learn principles of energy conversion. This branch of engineering is required in different kinds of industry.

B.Tech Admission:

Today a large number of colleges provide the engineering course. These colleges are affiliated with different universities at different locations. Most of these universities and colleges have websites, so students can apply online for any course. Different colleges have different sets of rules regarding admission into B.Tech courses. Students can take admission into any course through either of the two ways.

Direct Admission in B.Tech:

This mode of admission is purely based on your marks in 12th class. You don’t need to qualify any entrance exam to take admission into these colleges. If you fulfill the eligibility criteria, you can take admission through direct mode. Also, colleges which allow direct B.Tech course admission are expensive. The course fees vary from college to college.

B.Tech Admission through Entrance exam:

Through this mode of B.Tech course admission, students get the best colleges at an affordable price for B.Tech courses. Generally, colleges which accept the entrance exam score are affiliated with the exam conducting university. The entrance exam checks your aptitude and suitability for the course. The eligibility criteria remains the same, only the marks in the entrance exam are additional requirements.

List of B.Tech Entrance Exam:

There are a number of entrance exams to take admission into a B.Tech course. Some exams are national exams while some exams are conducted by the universities themselves. The biggest advantage of taking admission through the entrance exam is that you will get a good college at an affordable price. The purpose of conducting the entrance exam is to check the knowledge and eligibility of the student.

Some most common entrance exam for B.Tech course are as follow:

  • Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Mains
  • Join Entrance Exam Advanced (JEE Advanced)
  • Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT)
  • Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET)
  • Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU OET)
Eligibility, Duration, and Fees of B.Tech Course:

Before taking admission into the B.Tech course, you need to meet the B.Tech course eligibility criteria. It is the minimum requirement, you should have to take admission into a college for a course. The eligibility criteria depends upon the course type and college. The minimum eligibility criteria also sometimes depends upon the substream of the course.

The B.tech course eligibility criteria is as follow:

  • The candidates should have scored at least 60% marks in their 12th from a recognised board.
  • The candidate should have chosen science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) in his intermediate class.
  • For an integrated program, the eligibility criteria remains the same as for the B.Tech course.

B.Tech course duration is 4 years. In case of an integrated program, the course duration is 5 years. You will get a dual degree in an integrated program like B.Tech + M.Tech or B.Tech + MBA. Every year has two semesters which should be qualified individually. Each semester has a duration of 6 months. So, there are a total of 8 semesters in B.Tech normal degree and 10 semesters in dual degree program.

The course fees in most cases depend upon the college. If you choose a private college, the course will be expensive because it includes various charges. Students can get admission into the B.Tech course at comparatively lower price through entrance exam. These entrance exams help you to get quality education at an affordable price. The minimum B.Tech course fees in most colleges is around Rs. 75,000 to 1.5 lakhs.
