What is Polytechnic Course:

Eligibility criteria for Polytechnic courses after 12th:

The minimum qualification required to pursue the polytechnic course is the 10th passed from the recognized board and 12th pass out candidates are also eligible to take admission in this respective course.

Admission procedure for Polytechnic courses After 12th:

The admission process is different in the state wise. Some states offer seats on a direct basis. Candidate has to register first and submitted the documents and selection will be done on the basis of marks obtained in their academics. Some of the states announced an entrance exam to take admission in the polytechnic course. So students have to fill up the application form and appear in the entrance examination and selection will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance exam.

Some colleges are operated privately, so every college has its own criteria to allow candidates in their institution to pursue this polytechnic course and admission process completely depends on how the college operates it and the organization comes under.

Duration of polytechnic courses After 12th:

The duration of this polytechnic course is three years. Course content is also divided in such a way to be completed in the specified years.

Types of Polytechnics College in India:

There are two types of polytechnic college in India which are:

  • Government polytechnic college
  • Self-finance polytechnic college 

Government polytechnic college is those colleges which are conducted through government and fee are relatively low in the government college while self-finance polytechnic college is the college which is running by any individual body and fee are relatively high to the Government polytechnic college and Self-financed college fee usually vary from one institute to another institute.
