Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) Course

Masters of Dental Surgery/Science is a postgraduate dentistry course. Aspirants have to be a Bachelor of Dental Surgery/Science(BDS) from a recognized university in order to be eligible for this course. MDS course duration is generally last to three years, however, there is a provision of two years MDS course for candidates who have passed Post Graduate Diploma course recognized by the (Dental Council of India) DCI of the duration of two years in a particular speciality.

Qualification:

Age limit:

The age limit for the course is 21 years and the individual should qualify the All India Common Entrance Test ( AICET) which is regulated and conducted by the University Grant Commission, New Delhi, and other Dental colleges.

Foreign nationalists willingly to pursue the degree should procure temporary registration from the Dental Council of India.

  • The salary in private institutions for dentists is determined on the basis of their skill and talent. Normally the monthly salary of dentist in private sector ranges from Rs.25000 to Rs 40000.
  • Experienced doctors in the private sector earn a salary up to 1,50,000 per month. Many dental colleges have their own hospitals and if a candidate proves his potential during the course of studies, they can even get placed in the same institute in which they will be paid excellent from the starting stage itself.
  • In the government sector, the initial pay for dentists will be less compared to other sectors.
