BASLP Course:

The Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology or the BASLP Course duration is a four-year full-time undergraduate course. This course is specifically designed for students who have passed out of 10+2 examinations in the Science Stream, from a recognized educational board. The students learn the techniques and methods used in diagnosing and treating speech and hearing, along with balance-related disorders in people. 

This course comes under the health support sector which specifically focuses on audio and hearing technology. The BASLP Course comes under paramedical Sciences and is subdivided into two main subjects: Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. The course is subdivided into six semesters of coursework and 2 semesters of internships. (3 years + 1 year).

The course section of Audiology includes the science of hearing. It deals with the study of sound and balance disorders as well as hearing and the rehabilitation of people suffering from disorders related to hearing and balance. The second category under the BASLP Course includes the science that deals with the study and pattern of speech, languages, and disorders occurring in people.

BASLP Course Admission Procedure:

The BASLP Course admission procedure is in two modes, entrance exam and merit-based. Many institutes and colleges offer admission to students on the basis of their scores according to the relevant entrance exam. The entrance exam conducted by the State, National, and Institutional Level entrance exams. Students, once their entrance exam is completed, the students appear for a counseling session also known as a group discussion and the personal interview. A merit list is subsequently released by the institute, allocating seats to qualifying candidates. 

Some institutes also gain admission based on the candidate's score in the 10+2 examination. This is the Merit-based mode of admission. In conclusion, the BASLP Course Admission procedure is different from college to college and university to university.
