M.Tech Biochemical Engineering Course: It is mainly used in fields like Biotechnology, biofuels, Pharmaceuticals, etc. It also includes the design of pharmaceuticals, artificial organs, biomedical devices. This branch is considered the sub-branch of Biotechnology.
M.Tech a PG Course of 2 years duration. This course provides you with the required knowledge and skill related to the production of chemical products using biological organisms and principles. This course also consists of the study of tissue culture. Biochemical Engineering is the branch of engineering related to designing and developing chemical and biological principles and using them for production purposes. Biochemical engineering is also related to the use of chemical principles in the biological system to prepare different products for human use. It consists of two fields ‘Biological’ and ‘Chemical’. So, Biochemical engineering uses the principles of biology and chemistry.
Recently, the use of biological processes in industries like pharmaceuticals, food processing, etc. has increased. So, the demand for biochemical engineering has also increased. Hence, a person who has a good knowledge of the subject will have a bright future in this field.
The best way to get to a top college for a PG course is through the entrance exam. These exams check your knowledge about the subject. Also, if you get admission through these entrance exams, you will get a reduction in course fees Some institutes conduct their own entrance exam while some accept the score of a state-level or national level exam.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE): Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Science (IIS) conducts Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Every aspirant who wants to take admission in an IIT or NIT has to qualify for this exam with the required marks.
Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT): Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test is a university-level exam conducted by BITS. This is another exam for students who want the best college for their PG course.
Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET): Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test is conducted to take admission in different UG & PG courses. The conducting authority of this exam is Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AG PGECET): Andhra university conducts this exam every year for M.Tech Courses. This exam allows you to get admission to various colleges affiliated with Andhra University.
➥ Eligibility Criteria are the minimum requirement to take admission in the college. It defines whether you can take admission or not. Those Students who fulfil the eligibility criteria will be allowed to take admission to a college. M.Tech Biochemical Engineering Course eligibility criteria are similar to other M.Tech Courses.
M.Tech Biochemical Engineering Course duration is 2 years. This PG program has 2 semesters every year. Each semester is of 6 months and exams are conducted at the end of every semester. The minimum fee is around 50,000 to 1.5 lakhs per year.
➥ The syllabus or curriculum of a course means the subjects which will be taught during the course. This is a very crucial part of the course. The subjects of the course should consist of important topics and concepts which have a practical use. So, this course will make you fit for the industry. If the subject does not consist of important and practical concepts, it will not make you fit for the industry. And you may have difficulty getting a job.
➥ It is not the same for every institute. But the core subjects of every college remain the same. Only minor subjects may change. Hence the syllabus below gives you an idea of the common subjects in the M.Tech Biochemical Engineering Course.

The educational institute has a major role in making the future of a student. A student can read the books and learn the concepts himself. But he can only harness the required skill in proper guidance. So, it is essential to choose the right education institution. After finishing your education, you want to get a decent job in your related field. This helps you in starting your career. But the worst part is that most colleges don’t provide campus placement. So, you should choose one which has a better placement record.

Biochemical engineering is a field that is interconnected to other fields. Its principles and knowledge are not only limited to its own domain. In fact, in most industries, biochemical engineering is used in one of the stages of production. So, it has wide applications. A disciple of Biochemical engineering can have career opportunities in the Biochemical sector as well as other related industries. He can apply for different job roles in these industries.
Biotechnology: Biotechnology and Biochemical are generally considered synonyms but they are slightly different. In Biotechnology, biological principles and organisms are used at some stage of the production process. But in the case of Biochemical engineering, Biological, as well as Chemical Principles, are used for business purposes. However, having this slight difference, various things are interchangeable. So, students of Biochemical engineering can make their careers in biotechnology and vice versa.
Pharmaceuticals: Medicines are prepared from chemical substances. These chemical substances have different harmful effects on the human body. So, medicines are prepared using biological processes and organisms which don’t have harmful effects. Hence, it has become an integral part of the pharmaceutical industry. So, after the M.Tech Biochemical Engineering Course, you can make a successful career in the Pharmaceutical industry.
Food Processing: The food processing industry mainly deals with eatables. Natural food undergoes different processes. And to improve the process and production biochemical engineering is used. The food processing industry required professionals in the Biochemical field. So, the M.Tech Biochemical Engineering course is of utmost importance in this field.
➥ As we know Biochemical engineering is required in different fields at different levels. So, the demand for a Biochemical professional is high. He can make his career in multiple fields. However, you don't need to get a high salary package in every company. Salary depends upon some other factors also. A person who has good experience in the industry will get a considerably higher salary than a fresher. For companies, more experience means more related knowledge and skills. So, if you want to earn more salary, you should give some time in the industry.
