M.Phil Course Eligibility Criteria

  • The basic eligibility criterion for pursuing an M.Phil degree is having a graduation diploma in any stream. However, many of the reputed universities demand graduation degrees with Honours in Philosophy or Philosophy as one of the subjects studied in graduation from any of the recognized universities/colleges of the country for admission to M(Philosophy) degree courses.
  • Some of the very renowned universities demand a minimum of 45-50% marks in graduation as qualifying criteria to secure admission in this course and some also conduct entrance examinations to get admission to their M.Phil degree course.
  • Selection to the course in colleges is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e. total marks aggregated in the final exams of graduation and in the entrance exam.

MPhil Course Admission Procedure

When one applies for M.A. Philosophy admission, he shall have to submit the following things:

  • Prescribed Fees
  • Transfer Certificate (if applicable)
  • Eligibility Certificate
  • Statement of marks, degree certificate, with attested photocopy of each

Admission to the course is through an entrance exam which is conducted by various universities/colleges across the country. The entrance test is conducted to evaluate the student’s basic knowledge of philosophy.

Selection Process for MPhil Course

The aspirants are selected through their performance in the entrance exam. Once the candidate clears the optimum requirement of the entrance exam, then they will be called for counseling where they are granted admission by the institute taking the aggregate marks scored by them in the undergraduate course into consideration.
