B.Sc Chemistry Course: B.Sc Chemistry is the abbreviation for Bachelor of Science in Chemistry is a 3-year long undergraduate course that introduces students to the fundamentals of chemical science such as:

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Admission Procedure:

The admission in B.Sc Chemistry Course is done on the basis of marks scored by a candidate in intermediate i.e 10+2. As per the eligibility criteria, the candidates must belong to the science branch with chemistry as the main subject.

The admission will be done on a merit basis which means colleges or universities will release a cut-off percentage for admission to the program. The admission form will be available in the month of May or June after the declaration of class 10+2 result. Students who will fulfill the cut-off criteria will be granted admission to the respective colleges and universities.

Some of the colleges introduce an entrance test for the students which consists of a 2-3 hour examination which consists of objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English. Some of the institutes also conduct direct or donation-based admission processes.

BSc Chemistry Course Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates who are interested in the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Course will have to satisfy two main eligibility criteria given below:

  • Intermediate (10+2) completed from a recognized institution or board.
  • The student must belong to the science stream with Chemistry as one of the main subjects.

BSc Chemistry Course Syllabus Pattern:

This Chemistry Course is divided into 6 semesters and the subjects may vary from university to university. 

Being a part of this course you will have to learn subjects such as:

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as a compulsory language.

I and II Semester will provide the introduction of fundamentals aspects of Physical and General Chemistry.

  • Wherein in the II semester students will learn inorganic chemistry in detail. 
  • Students will go through laboratory and practical techniques in the latter year.
  • Students will have to choose elective papers on applied chemistry.

II and III semesters will provide advanced study in fundamental topics further.

  • Wherein in III semester students will learn inorganic, and physical chemistry in advance.
  • And Organic chemistry will be covered in the IV semester.
  • Throughout the session, students will do experimental work and theoretical as well as practical knowledge.

V and VI Semester will undertake more advanced studies in the field of organic, inorganic, and analytical chemistry.

  • In this year students will choose optional subjects from the following- bio-inorganic, selected topics in inorganic chemistry, the chemistry of polymers, and chemistry of synthetic drugs. 
  • Meanwhile keeping the experimental study in parallel with the electives.
