Do BA History Course Graduates get jobs?

✍ Students often ask, “What can I do with a History major?”

✍ Professor Ken Lenford of Case Western Reserve University recently answered.

✍ There is the short answer and the long answer, sort of like the good news and the bad-news type. The short and honest answer is this: Unlike, Engineering Courses After 12th, Management, Accounting, Nursing, or other undergraduate professional degrees, there is no single, clear career track, into which most graduates of the BA History Course will go and find employment.

✍ But History majors do get jobs, but the question is ‘What Jobs’? This is a long answer since it is pretty diverse. The single best career option that many BA History Course graduates choose is Law school. Some also go on to pursue B.ed and become teachers.

✍ There are many other options despite these. Some may think of going to a professional school in library science, international relations, archives management, or museum studies. Some BA History Course graduates have also gone on to become project managers, in very reputed firms.

✍ Some students have also pursued higher studies in History such as MA, Ph.D., etc, and are very successful. In today’s world, businesses look for individuals with skills, communication, and how they can help their business grow.

✍ History is a great area of study, since it's a study of humanity's past, and how we have come to become who we are currently. However, it always depends on the student.

✍ You should ask yourself what you think would benefit you and serve your personal needs in a rapidly growing economic world, in which you are going to work for the next 40 to 50 years after graduation.

✍ A fixed body of facts, the ability to think critically, and to express yourself perfectly, is what you want, the BA History Course is the subject for you!
