UPSC Exam Syllabus 2025

UPSC exam syllabus is divided into 3 stages: preliminary, mains and last personality test. Each one has different subjects and topics that you have to prepare for the UPSC exam so please look at the table to know about the syllabus in detail.

Preliminary	General Studies Paper I (CSAT)	Comprehension, Logical reasoning, Analytical ability, Decision making, Problem solving, Basic numeracy, Data interpretation
Main	Essay	Candidates have to write two essays on topics of their choice
Main	General Studies Paper I	Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society
Main	General Studies Paper II	Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations
Main	General Studies Paper III	Technology, Economic Development, Biodiversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management
Main	General Studies Paper IV	Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude
Main	Optional subject	You have to choose an optional subject from 26 subjects
Personality Test	Interview	Candidates have to give an interview to the board of unbiased people who will judge your personality and mental ability and if you are a really good fit.
