Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) is a National Level Entrance Test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the selection of eligible and skilled candidates for the teaching profession in all Central Government Schools. Earlier, CBSE used to conduct the CTET Exam. There are two levels of this paper. Aspirants who clear paper I will get to teach ( class I-V ) & those who qualify for paper II will get to teach (class VI-VIII). This year the exam will take place on 7th July 2025.
CTET 2025: The aspirants who successfully qualify for this entrance exam can teach in any government & private schools referred to the clause of section 2 of the RTE Act. The question paper comprises multiple-choice questions. The candidates who are eligible are advised to read all the guidelines mentioned by the NCTE before applying for CTET from the official website. You can avail of the Application form in online mode.

Before applying for CTET Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria, which are decided by the examination authority i.e. NTA.CTET Exam is a national enrollment process to elect skillful teachers for the Primary Level and Upper Primary Level. The eligibility standard of CTET 2025 is given below:
(i) Primary Level
➢ Intermediate (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
➢ Cleared class 12th (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appeared in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
➢ Passed out the 12th standard (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appeared in the final year of 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
➢ Cleared class 12th (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appeared in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education.
OR
➢ Graduation and passed the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
(ii) Upper Primary Level
➢ Completed Graduation and passed (or appearing) in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
➢ Completed Graduation with minimum 50% marks and passed or appeared in 1st year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
➢ Completed Graduation with minimum 45% marks and passed or appeared in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
➢ Intermediate with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
OR
➢ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
➢ Cleared Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appeared in 1 year B.Ed.
