AFCAT Exam Pattern 2025:

✎ AFCAT Exam 2025 will be held online in different exam centers across the nation and it will be carried out by the Indian Air Force (IAF). The questions will be displayed in a random sequence on the screen according to the latest Exam Pattern.

✎ The second exam will be held in September 2025

✎ AFCAT is an entrance test conducted for the aspirants who want to join Indian AirForce as Commissioned Officer in Flying, Ground Duty (Technical), and Ground Duty (Non-Technical).

✎ Applicants who are applying should have a minimum of 60% marks in Physics and Mathematics in both High School and Intermediate.

AFCAT Exam Pattern 2025 Important Points:

The language in which the question paper will be available in English.
A total number of questions will be asked which will be summed into 100 marks.
The duration of the exam will be 120 minutes (2 hr).
For every correct answer, you will get +3 marks and for every incorrect answer, -1 mark will be deducted.
Marks won’t be deducted for the unattempted question.

AFCAT and EKT Exams

For all three posts of the Air Force: Flying, Technical, and Ground Duty Department, these exams are compulsory. Those who are candidates for the Ground Duty department, have to give the AFCAT Exam, and those who are technical candidates, have to give the Engineering Knowledge Examination (EKT). In this section, we have provided the AFCAT Exam Pattern 2025 which is mandatory for a candidate if he or she wants a selection in Indian Air Force.

EKT Examination - There are 50 questions in this examination, each question is 3 marks, the time duration is 45 minutes, negative marking is 1 point. It contains questions based on the expertise of engineering standards.

SSB Interview - The candidate who has qualified for the previous examination. The SSB Commission will invite him for an interview who will evaluate further mental and skill abilities.

Academic Qualification AFCAT Exam Pattern 2025

For the Flying and Ground Duty (technical) department, a minimum of 60% marks in physics and mathematics are required at 10 + 2 level.

Requirements for different posts are given below:

Flying Department:

1. BE or B.TECH graduates should have a four-year complete degree with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks from any recognized university.

2. 3 years of a graduate degree from any recognized university or equivalent should be with a minimum of 60% marks.

Technical Duty (Ground Duty):

Four years of engineering and technology should be a graduate or postgraduate degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

Ground duty department (non-technical):

Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks with a minimum of 3 years of recognized university or equivalent.

AFCAT Exam Pattern and Some other Important Points

Age Limit for AFCAT Exam -

Flying Department - Candidate age should be between 20 and 24. If the applicant has a recognized pilot license then, In this case, the maximum age limit is 26 years.
The age limit should be between 20 to 26 years ground duty department (technical and non-technical).

Marital Status -

A candidate who is under 25 years of age should be unmarried. Marriage is not permitted during training.
Married candidates of 25 years are eligible to apply.

AFCAT Result exam notification will be released on June 2025 by the Indian Air Force. First IAF will release a short notification and later on, all the detailed notifications will be released.
