Here are the eligibility criteria for AFCAT 2 2024:

1. Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India. Foreign nationals are not eligible to apply.

2. Age Limit:

   • Flying Branch: Candidates should be between 20 and 24 years of age as of 1st July 2024. The upper age limit is relaxable for up to 26 years for candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India).
   • Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches: Candidates should be between 20 and 26 years of age as of 1st July 2024.

3. Educational Qualifications:

   • Flying Branch: Candidates must have completed a minimum of three years of bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks. They should have studied Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level or have completed a 3-year diploma course in Engineering from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.
   • Ground Duty (Technical) Branch: Candidates must have completed a minimum of four years of graduation or an integrated post-graduation degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.
   • Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch: Candidates must have completed a minimum of three years of bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.

4. Marital Status: Candidates below the age of 25 years must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course. Marriage is not permitted during the training period.

5. Physical and Medical Standards: Candidates must meet the physical and medical standards set by the Indian Air Force (IAF). This includes requirements related to height, weight, vision, and general health. These standards may vary depending on the branch of entry.

6. Written Examination: Candidates need to qualify for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) conducted by the Indian Air Force. The exam assesses candidates' knowledge in areas such as General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test.

7. Selection Process: The selection process consists of the AFCAT written examination, Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) testing, and medical examination. Candidates who qualify in the written exam are called for AFSB testing, which includes various stages such as Officer Intelligence Rating Test, Psychological Test, Group Tests, and Personal Interview.

AFCAT Physical Standards Criteria 2024

2. Vision Standards:

   • Visual Acuity: Candidates must have minimum visual acuity of 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other, without correction.

   • Myopia: The maximum limit for myopia (including cylinder) is -3.5 D.
   • Hypermetropia: The maximum limit for hypermetropia (including cylinder) is +3.5 D.
   • Astigmatism: The maximum limit for astigmatism is ±2.0 D.
   • Near Vision: Candidates must have N6 (corrected) near vision in one eye.

3. General Health and Medical Standards:

   • Candidates should be free from any physical disability or ailment that may interfere with the performance of duties as an officer in the Indian Air Force.
   • They should have sound mental and physical health, free from any communicable diseases.
   • Candidates with a history of major surgery or illness may be assessed for fitness on a case-by-case basis.

4. Tattoo Policy:

   • Tattoos are allowed on specific body parts, provided they are not obscene, offensive, or prejudicial to the national interests of India.
   • Tattoos that are visible on the body while wearing a standard uniform are generally not allowed. However, candidates with tattoos on the inner side of their forearms may be considered.

5. Physical Fitness:

   • Candidates are expected to have a good level of physical fitness and stamina.
