Approx. 3 hours is given by the Punjab Board 10th to every student during the examination. All students have to speed up their speed of writing so that they all can complete their exams before the specified timing which is given by the Board authority.
As Punjabi is the mother tongue of Punjab every student who belongs to Punjab must present in the examination hall to appear for Punjabi-A and B. The students who don’t understand Punjabi are free to opt. The subject of Punjab History and Culture is divided into 2 parts of Punjab History and Culture - A and B.

There are 5667 government, 654 government-aided, and 3126 unaided schools affiliated with Punjab Board. Over 6 lakhs students appeared for the examination of Punjab Board 10th but this year students were promoted to the next class based on their last qualifying exam.

Redesigned Format of Punjab Board Class 10th Syllabus of English this question paper is designed by the Punjab Board 10th after the reduction of the syllabus by the Punjab Government. A team of experts from the Punjab Board and the States Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) set up by the educational department finalized the proposal of reducing the syllabus burden of the Punjab Board 10th.
Educational secretary Krishan Kumar said that “The committee was set up by the educational department under (SCERT)director Jagtar Singh” to take a view of various stakeholders in which academics, teachers, and parents were also included then the committee decided to reduce the syllabus burden of Punjab Board 10th this year academic session 2024.
