UP ITI Exam 2024

State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT) conducts the UP ITI 2024 Exam. The primary work of SCVT is to select candidates for training in Government and Private Industrial Training Institutes of the state on the “Merit in Educational Qualification” Basis.

They work towards ensuring smooth operations in the admission process of the candidates. Also, they have to ensure proper transparency is maintained while selecting candidates for Government Industrial Training Institutes.

After providing proper training to the candidates of Government and Private Institutes, this council organizes Exams of the National Vocational/National Apprenticeship Council, Government of India.

UP ITI Exam 2024 is conducted to enrol more and more candidates in the Government’s short-term and employment-based Vocational Training Programs under PM Modi’s Skill Development Mission. If today’s youth are equipped with employable skills, then they will get good employment opportunities which will ultimately help them in earning a good and enhancing their standard of living. This will also help the country in reducing the Poverty and Unemployment Rate Country.

Eligibility

Candidates should have passed the 8th/10th/12th Education or equivalent exam from a recognized board or university. (Different for different trades)

Candidates who are appearing in high school in 2024 can also apply.

UP ITI Counselling Related Information:

  • To get admission to various ITI Courses offered by Government and Private Institutions, the candidates have to go through a counselling process.
  • The counselling process for admission in ITIs is based on a merit list prepared by VPPUP after considering the marks secured by applicants in their prior qualifying examinations.
  • The candidates whose names appear in the merit list, only are eligible to take part in Uttar Pradesh Industrial Training Institutes. 
  • There are multiple counselling rounds for the allocation of seats.
  • There are 2 concepts related to Counselling Processes.
  • a)Float: In case the candidates are not satisfied with the seats allotted to them and are willing to wait for further rounds of counselling and seat allocation process, they can avail the option of “Float”.
  •  b)Freeze: In case if the candidates are satisfied with the seats allotted to them, they can exercise the option of “Freeze” for confirming their seats. However, if they exercise this option, they will not be allowed to participate in subsequent rounds of counselling.
  • The candidates can check the seat allocation result on the official website of the Uttar Pradesh State Council for Vocational Training (UP SCVT). 
  • The selected candidates will also be notified through their registered mobile number and after that,/they will be given 6 days to deposit the admission fees and confirm their allocated seats.
  • If the candidates fail to confirm their seats allotted to them in Government ITIs within the time allotted to them, they will be debarred from the counselling process and their seats will be seized.

However, If the candidates apply for admission at Private ITIs within the time allotted to them, the Private ITIs have the right to reserve those seats under management quota seats where the eligible candidates will be given admission outside the SCVT Portal for which they just need to deposit the admission fee to confirm their admission.

UP ITI Eligibility Criteria:

A) Age Limit:

  • As of August 01, 2024, the candidate should have attained at least 14 years of age. That means, the candidate, in any case, should not have been born after 31st July 2009.
  • There is no upper limit on age for submitting the online application for UP ITI Exam 2024.

No relaxation, in the minimum age prescribed, shall be provided to the candidate.

        B) Educational Qualification

  • Candidates should have passed the 8th/10th Education or equivalent exam from a recognized board or university.

OR 

  • Candidates who are appearing in high school in the year 2024 can also apply.

    c) Health
     
  • For getting admission in government industrial training institutes, the candidate must be mentally and physically healthy; also he/she should not have any deficiency in his/her body as a result of which he/she cannot perform efficiently in the selected trade.
  • Reservation of 4% of the total admission capacity is available for differently-abled and disabled candidates. Under this category, disabled candidates with a disability of 40% or more, will be considered.
  • At the time of admission, it is compulsory to submit and carry a certificate signed by the Chief Medical Officer mentioning that the candidate has 40% or more disability and is thus entitled to get disability facility. 
  • But such a candidate has to go through an assessment by the specialist appointed by the Chief Medical Officer at the institute level, to verify his/her suitability for that particular course.
  • There should not be any defect in both eyes when tested with or without glasses in the daylight. 
  • EyeSight should be 6/18 in both eyes or 6/24 in one eye without glasses.
  • Candidates who have one eye, and are free from colour blindness defects can also get selected.
How is the UP ITI Merit List prepared by concerned authorities?
  • For the preparation of the UP ITI Merit List, the authorities, first, take into consideration the prior educational qualification of the candidates.
  • After considering educational qualifications, the reservation available to the candidates based on their caste category is also considered.
  • This is how, finally, the UP ITI Merit List is prepared by the concerned authorities and after that, they release the merit list and date of admission counselling.

UP ITI Admission Tie-Breaking Criteria:

If in case 2 or more students have scored the same marks in the prior education exam, then the concerned authority follows the following tie-breaking criteria to give admission to the candidate in UP Industrial Training Institutes:

  • Preference will be given to the candidate born earlier than the other candidates.
  • If the tie still exists, preference will be given to the candidate who has filled the UP ITI Application Form, first.

UP ITI Course Details:

  • The official authority of Vyavsayik Prashikshan Parishad Uttar Pradesh (VPPUP) offers training in both Engineering and Non-Engineering Trades.
  • The applicants can choose from among 90+ courses as per their educational qualifications and availability of seats after counselling.
  • The time duration of the UP ITI Course varies from 6 months to 3 years.
