APS TGT/PGT/PRT EXAM PATTERN 2025:

The APS TGT/PGT/PRT Exam Pattern is visible on the Registration Portal of Army Public Schools under the head “Guidelines”. This exam pattern is really helpful for all the aspiring candidates as it is clearly defining all the stages that the candidate has to go through while APS TGT/PT/PRT Teachers Recruitment Process 2025. 

As soon as the exam pattern is released by AWES, the candidates must check it so that they can schedule their preparation accordingly.


APS TGT PGT PRT Exam Pattern 2025

APS TGT/PGT/PRT Exam Mode:

  • The APS TGT/PGT/PRT Exam Pattern will be conducted in an online mode for all the eligible candidates.
  • When the candidates will arrive for giving the APS TGT/PGT/PRT Exam 2025, they will be given separate computer systems to attempt the exam and they just have to tick the correct answers.

Nature of Questions in APS TGT/PGT/PRT Exam Pattern:

  • The questions asked in the APS TGT/PGT/PRT Exam are Multiple Choice Based Questions.
  • Probably, there will be 4 choices available for every question and the candidates have to tick anyone which they think to be correct.

APS TGT/PGT/PRT Exam Highlights:

  • There is a provision of negative marking for any wrong answers that the candidates have marked. ¼ will be deducted for every answer marked incorrectly by the respective candidate. 
  • All the questions asked are compulsory to attempt, no optional questions will be there.
  • All the questions will be multiple choice based questions.
  • For PGT/TGT, there will be 2 parts of the exam (Part A and Part B) of 90 minutes each i.e. the total duration of the exam will be 180 minutes and For PRT, there will be only 1 Part of the exam (Part A) of 90 minutes. 
  • For PGT/TGT, there will be 2 parts of the exam (Part A and Part B) of 90 marks each i.e. the total maximum marks will be 180 and For PRT, there will be only 1 Part of the exam (Part A) of 90 marks. 
  • Once the candidate has appeared for the Online Exam, his/her total score will be normalized to 100.
  • For PGT/TGT, both the parts of the exam i.e. Part A and Part B will be available to attempt together, so the candidates can attempt the questions in whichever order they want. 
  • To qualify for the online exam, the candidates must score at least 50% marks in each part of the Question Paper.  

Detailed APS TGT/PGT/PRT Exam Pattern:

The APS TGT/PGT/PRT Teachers Recruitment Exam 2025 will be conducted in 3 different stages and Stage 1 being the Qualifying stage which means that only the candidates who qualify Stage 1 will be entitled to appear for Stage 2 and Stage 3.

Stage 1: Online Screening Exam

About Online Screening Exam 

    • The first and foremost stage in the selection procedure of APS TGT/PGT/PRT Teachers Recruitment Exam is the Online Screening Test. 
    • The concerned authority has scheduled November 2025 as the dates for conducting Online Screening Exam for all the candidates.
    • Army Welfare Education Society has not revealed the total number of vacant posts in Various Army Public Schools as the exact number of vacancies will be notified by the concerned schools only.
    • An Agency will be chosen centrally by the HQ Army Welfare Education Society which will assume the responsibility of conducting this online exam. This is done to ensure the same level of teachers in all the Army Public Schools across the country.
    • A SCORECARD will be issued to all the candidates who qualify at this stage. 
  • Benefits of Obtaining SCORECARD-
  1. VALIDITY OF THIS SCORECARD: It will be valid for the concerned candidates throughout his/her life if the candidate chooses a teaching job within a period of 3 years from the date of passing this screening exam in any CBSE Affiliated School for a continuous period of at least 1 year. 
  2. Once the candidate clears this stage and gets a SCORECARD, he/she will be eligible to appear in the further Stages of the Selection Process. 

Who all can appear for the Online Screening Exam?

The following categories of candidates can appear for the Online Screening Exam:

  1. New Candidates with required Qualification and Certifications
  2. Already Holders of Scorecards who are willing to improve their Scores in the Online Screening Exam
  3. The candidates who want to level up themselves, like the one who already possess TGT Scorecard but want to level up to PGT Scorecard. But the candidates must have acquired additional qualifications for the same. 

Stage 2: Interview

The second stage after qualifying for the Online Screening Test and obtaining the Scorecard is Face-to-Face or One-to-one Interviews.  

The respective Army Public Schools will notify the exact number of vacancies using various means of communication like newspapers, official web portal, etc. 

The candidates have to search for the schools having vacancies in the area of their choice or their nearby area and then they can apply through the respective school’s website.  

The interviews are conducted for a Cluster of Schools and the candidates who qualify for Regular Posts may get posting in any of the schools which come in that particular cluster. 

The candidates should note that the Interviews will take place as per the discretion of local management of various schools i.e. the interviews may happen either at the location of schools or at a convenient place decided by them.

Stage 3: Evaluation of Teaching Skills and Computer Proficiency

The last and the final stage is the evaluation of the teaching skills of the candidates and his/her computer proficiency.  

For teachers of Language courses, there will be a written test having a comprehension and essay of 15 marks each along with the evaluation of teaching skills. 

It depends on the discretion of the Selection Committee, whether they want to conduct Computer Proficiency Test or not. 

Note: If the number of candidates is extremely high and the committee is finding it difficult to manage, they have the power to carry out Additional Screening for the candidates.

Stage 2 and Stage 3 will be organized by various schools and their management at different times between a period of December-March.
