What is the APTET Exam 2020?

Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) Exam 2020 is conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh and is a State Level Entrance Test. This APTET Exam 2020 recruits teachers for the government and private schools of Andhra Pradesh. APTET Exam 2020 is of two papers. Paper, I is for the candidates who want to teach students from class I to V and Paper II is for the candidates who want to teach the students from class VI to VIII. The mode of this exam is objective with a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

AP TET Exam 2020 is conducted in the month of June 2020.   • The AP TET Exam 2020 is an online exam that incorporates objective type questions.
  • The exam contains 150 questions that has to be completed in the duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • The marks awarded for each correct answer is +1. The total questions will be 150 and that is totally objective in nature. However, for any incorrect answer, no marks will be deducted.

APTET Exam 2020 Eligibility criteria:

Andhra Pradesh TET Exam 2020 Eligibility criteria vary for Paper I and Paper II. These eligibility criteria are set by the Andhra Pradesh board. You need to go through these criteria while filling the application form. APTET Exam 2020 eligibility criteria for both the papers are given below. 

For Paper I
  • Candidates should have passed Intermediate or class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks (for general) and 45% (for SC/ ST/ OBC) 
  • Candidates should have cleared Diploma in Elementary Education (D.Ed) or bachelor’s degree in Elementary education or Diploma in special education.
  • Candidates who have passed 12th and D.Ed/ B.El.Ed between August 2010 - 2017, the minimum marks for them in 12th is 45% (General) and 40% (SC/ ST/ OBC).
  • Final year candidates of D.Ed/ B.El.Ed/ Diploma in special education can also apply for APTET Exam 2020.
For Paper II A

For Mathematics and Science/ Social Science Teachers

  • Candidates must have cleared a Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks (General) and 40% marks (SC/ ST/ OBC).
  • Along with it, candidates must have cleared a B.Ed degree with a good percentage.
  • The candidates who have cleared Integrated B.A. B.Ed/ B.Sc B.Ed can also give APTET Exam 2020 (Mathematics and Social Studies).
  • Candidates who are in the final-year B.Ed/ Integrated B.Ed can also take the test.
Language Teachers:
  • Candidates must have a graduation degree (Bachelor’s) in the concerned language.
  • For instance, if any candidate who is aspiring to become English Teacher must have cleared B.A. in English Literature or English as one of the optional subjects.
  • Along with it, the candidate must have cleared B.Ed in respective Language methodology.
  • The candidates who have cleared the Language Pandit Certificate course can also register for the Language Teacher category.
For Paper II B 
Physical Education Teachers:

As per the guidelines of CSE AP and NCTE, the eligibility criteria for APTET Paper IIB 2020 are given below.

  • Candidates must have cleared 12th and UG degree in Physical Education or Diploma in Physical Education.
  • Candidates who have cleared a Bachelor’s degree and having a degree in B.P.Ed can also appear for Andhra Pradesh TET Exam 2020.
