The Nagaland Board 12th Exam Pattern consists of three streams, namely Arts, Commerce and Science. The duration of the exam for each subject is three hours. The maximum marks for each subject are 100. The exam pattern is different for each stream.
The question paper consists of two parts - Part A and Part B. Part A consists of compulsory questions and Part B consists of optional questions. Students are required to attempt all the questions in Part A and three questions from Part B.

Apart from the theory exams, students are also required to appear for practical exams in their respective streams. The practical exams are conducted for the Science Stream, while for the Commerce and Arts streams, it is an optional component.
The Nagaland Board of School Education follows a nine-point grading system for Class 12 exams. The grades awarded are A+, A, B+, B, C+, C, D+, D and E. Students who score an E grade are considered to have failed the exam.
