About NSS College of Engineering:

NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad is one of the most prominent Engineering colleges in the state of Kerala. The college offers UG and PG courses in the discipline of Technology, it offers a B.Tech course across six streams and M.Tech courses in Power Electronics, Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Computer Integrated Manufacturing. NSSB College of Engineering was established in 1960 by Nair Service Society and it is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. It is believed that this college is a heritage in itself and has a legacy of converting the students into brilliant-minded engineering professionals who later made their name worldwide. The college campus is located at NSS Nagar, Akathethara, near the lush green foothills and surrounded by a beautiful scenic environment. The college campus also has easy connectivity with the nearest Palakkad Railway Junction. 

The campus size of  NSS College of Engineering is 125 acres, the college campus has separate blocks for each department, an administrative block, a separate library block, and 1 girls hostel and 4 boys hostel. The college offers various scholarship programs to reward the students who are excellent in academics and to support those students who belong to financially weaker sections. The admissions are offered on the basis of the candidate’s entrance exam score in Exams like GATE or KEAM. NSSCE college has also been awarded B3 Grade by the National Board of Accreditation for its B.Tech Course in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering and B5 Grade for B.Tech specialization like  B.Tech Instrumentation & Control Engineering.

NSS College of Engineering Facilities

The college provides other facilities like transportation, advanced laboratories, seminar Halls, Auditoriums, Library, Sports and Games courts, Advanced labs, and Computer Centres.

1. The college has 2 buses for the transportation purpose of students and college staff who live in Palakkad city or other nearby areas. These buses run daily on working days and are available for all the college students for pick up and drop facility. 

2. NSS college has centralized individual computer centers for the students of all the departments, students can access the advanced computer and browsing facilities at these centers. 

3. The Auditorium of the college is located in the main block, with a seating capacity of 800 people, the auditorium serves the purpose of providing a space for all the public events like seminars, guest lectures, cultural activities, important functions and meetings of students and faculties, department functions and other events. The auditoriums are equipped with the latest public addressing, LCD projectors, and comfortable seats.

4. To ensure that students can also spend some leisure time, the college is also facilitated with an outdoor stadium with 400-meter tracks for sports activities like football, Hockey, and Cricket. Apart from this, separate Volleyball courts, BasketBall Court, Badminton stadiums, and Tennis courts are also built inside the college campus. An indoor court is also there for the students who are interested in indoor games like Shuttle Badminton and Table Tennis. At last but not least, there is a Gymnasium with a Multi GYM of 16 stations and other weight lifting facilities.

5. The college is aesthetically designed for all the academic and extracurricular activities, it has 1 main seminar hall and 5 departmental seminar halls, all of which have an ideal setting for holding conferences, seminars, and other departmental events with a seating capacity of 100 people each.

6. The college has a well-managed Library system, where students can find extremely useful study materials and informational sources. The college library system has a central library and 6 departmental libraries which solely support the teaching and research programs of the college, Central library has a history of years as it was started in 1965  in a separate building of 4000 sq. meter area,   currently  It has around 62,846 books, reports, standards, and back volumes of journal books.

The Library has a Computerised Library Information System, Reprographic center and Internet Browsing Centre.
