About MEC Kochi :

Model Engineering College, Kochi, Kerala was established in 1989 as a self-financing college. The college is situated in Thrikkakara, Kochi, Kerala and it has public ownership. Model Engineering College, Kochi, Kerala is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the college is affiliated with Cochin University of Science and Technology and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The very first Principal of this college was Prof. Sukulal. In 1989, the college started 3-degree courses in different streams like computer, biomedical, and electronics engineering. 

MEC, Kochi was ranked 44 in engineering by Chronicle and 91 by the week at the national level. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various streams to the students. Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Biomedical Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Master of Technology in VLSI Design and Embedded Systems, Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Energy Management, Electronic with specialization in Signal Processing, Computer Science and Engineering in Image Processing.  

Model Engineering College, Kochi, Kerala provides the basic amenities to the students like an auditorium, library, gym, well-furnished classrooms, canteen, bank facilities, security facility, power backup, laboratories, sports facility, medical facility, wi-fi facility, Alumni Associations, training and placement cell, IT infrastructure, etc. the area of the college is spread over 20 acres of land. The aim of the college is to provide the best technical education to the students. All courses of the college are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation.
