MODEL ENGINEERING COLLEGE (MEC), KOCHI Admission Process 2024-24

Students who are willing to take admitted to MES Kochi are advised to go through the eligibility criteria and selection criteria of the college. If students fulfill the eligibility criteria of the college then only he/she will get admission to the college. We have mentioned the eligibility and selection criteria for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses separately:

For B.Tech

• The basic eligibility criteria for B.tech is students must have done class 12th in a science stream (physics, mathematics, and chemistry) from a recognized education board. 
• Students must have scored a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in their class 12th.
• 5% of relaxation is given to the SC/ST category students in marks of their class 12th. 
• The college offers a bachelor of technology in 5 streams Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Biomedical Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Students can opt for any stream according to their interest in the field. 
• Students have to appear in the KEAM entrance examination. 
• As the selection of the students is based on the marks scored in the KEAM entrance examination. 

For M.Tech 

• Students are required to complete their graduate degrees in a relevant stream from a recognized university. 
• Students have to secure at least 55% of marks in their graduate degree and 5% marks relaxation is given to the SC/ST category students. 
• The MEC offers a master of technology in 5 streams VLSI Design and Embedded Systems, Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Energy Management, Electronic with specialization in Signal Processing, Computer Science, and Engineering in Image Processing. Students can select any stream according to their interests and get admission to the college after fulfilling the eligibility criteria of the college. 
• Students also have to appear in the GATE entrance examination to get admission to the college because the student’s selection is based on the entrance examination. 

APPLICATION PROCESS OF MEC, KOCHI:

The application process is done in both modes online and offline by the Model Engineering College, Kochi. Interested students can follow these steps and apply to the college:

Online Application Process:

• Notification of the application form will be released by the college on its official website. 
• The application form will be available for a while. 
• Students have to visit the official website and click on the option of Admission. 
• Make sure to fill in all the details carefully (personal and academic details) in the application form. 
• Photocopies of mark sheets and photographs have to be submitted along with the application form. 
• After that make a payment for the application form online through net banking. 

Offline Application Process:

• Students can get the application form at the college office.
• Students have to fill out the application form with the required details and then have to submit it at the college office only. 
• Students have to pay the application form fee at the time of submitting the application form.
