National Institute of Technology Admission Process 2024-24:

The National Institute of Technology offers admissions to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses students. The admission process of NIT Calicut to various courses differs from one another. To get admission, students must check the eligibility criteria of the Institute. The admission committees of the NITC manage the admission process. Eligibility criteria and admission process of the National Institute of Technology, Calicut are mentioned below:

For B.Tech:

• Students must have completed 12th with science stream (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and English as the main subject) from a  recognized education board. 
• Students have to secure at least 60% of marks in their 12th class. For SC/ST 55% of marks are required to get eligible. 
• Students also have to appear in JEE Mains entrance examination.
• The selection of the students is based on the score of the JEE Mains examination. 

For B.Arch:

• Students have to complete class 12th in the science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and, English as one of the main subjects) from a recognized board. 
• A minimum of 60% of marks should be scored by the students in class 12th. SC/ST category students will get 5% of marks as relaxation.
• Students have to appear in the JEE Main entrance examination.
• The selection of the students will be based on the score of the JEE Mains entrance examination. 

For M.Tech:

• Students have to complete graduation (B.E/B.Tech) from a recognized university.
• And have to score a minimum aggregate of 60% of marks in their graduation program.
• Students are required to appear in the GATE entrance examination and have to score valid marks. 
• Students will get selected for admission on the basis of the marks of the GATE entrance examination. 

For M.Sc:

• Students have to complete their bachelor’s in a relevant stream for a recognized university.
• Minimum of 60%  of marks are required to be eligible for admission. 
• To get admission to NIT Calicut, students have to appear in the JAM entrance examination.
• The selection of the students is based on the marks scored in the JAM entrance examination. 

For MCA:

• Students have to complete graduation in a relevant stream from a recognized university.
• Students are required to score at least 60% of marks on their graduation. 
• Students have to appear in NIMCET which is conducted by the NIT Surathkal. Students will be selected on the basis of marks scored in NIMCET. 

For MBA:

• Students have completed their bachelor’s in the relevant subjects from a recognized university. 
• Students have to score a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in their bachelor’s program.
• The selection of the students in NIT Calicut will be based on the marks of the CAT entrance examination. So the students have to appear in the CAT entrance examination and have to score valid marks in the AT entrance examination. 
• After that Group discussion and interview will be conducted for the final selection process of the students in the institute. 

For M.Plan:

• Students have to complete their B.plan Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university. 
• And must have scored at least 60% of marks and 55% of marks are for SC/ST category students. 
• Students have to appear in the GATE entrance examination and have to score valid marks to get eligible for admission. 
• At last selection of the students will be based on the score of the GATE entrance examination. 

How to Fill NIT CALICUT Application Form:

• Students have to visit the official website of the Institute 
• After that, they have to click on the option of fill out the online application form.
• Get yourself registered by entering your details and then you have to make a user id and password.
• After registration application number will be generated. 
• Now you have to fill out all the details like personal details and academic details in the application form. 
• After that submit your application form with your id and password.

• Class XII performance mark sheet
• Provisional seat allotment letter.
• Undertaking by the candidate.
• Proof of seat acceptance fee payment
• Photo identity card issued by the Government of India.
• Admit card and scorecard of JEE Main.

SCHOLARSHIPS: NIT CALICUT 

National Institute of Technology, Calicut offers scholarships to meritorious students and to financially weak students. Eligible students get the merit-cum scholarship. The main objective of the institute is to provide scholarship to backward or poor students. Scholarship eligibility criteria and benefits of the scholarships are mentioned below:

Eligibility - income of the family should be less than INR 2.5 lakhs per annum and students must have scored a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.

Benefits-eligible students will get INR 25,000 per annum as assistance through the merit-cum scholarship and the hotelier will get INR 30,00 per annum.

National Institute of Technology, Hostel:

National Institute of Technology, Calicut offers the facility of in-campus hostels. The institute has a separate hostel for both girls and boys. It has 11 hostels in which 2 hostels are for girls. NIT CALICUT hostel capacity is about 6000. The hostel provides the common room, recreational center in each hostel under which TV, magazines, newspapers, indoor games, facilities are available for the students. The basic facilities that the hostel provides are a guest room, gym, hostel library, indoor sports center, co-operative store,  mess, 24-hour electricity, 24-hour wi-fi facility, security, medical facility, transport facility, dining hall, etc. Hostel fees for both girls and boys are INR 55,000.
