Students who have recently completed their graduation are aware of how difficult it is to find an entry-level job in today's time. Nowadays, the lack of work experience after graduation will make it even more difficult for you to find a job. But if you do internship courses after graduation, it can help you to get a full-time job. To do internship courses after graduation, you will be required to search for those programs that provide internships after graduation. It is also important to know whether the internship is of interest or not.

What do Internships after graduation involve?

Most of the graduate internships last for a few months. It is an excellent way to build your confidence, make industry contacts that help you on the way to getting a job. A meaningful number of graduates only get jobs through internships. This may be probably because, either they impress the employer, or they build up contacts in the industry. But this doesn’t mean you should stop struggling to find a job while you’re doing your internship though.

How do I Get an Internships after graduation?

To get Internships after graduation You should try to tailor your CV and covering letter for the company and try to show them how you fit their internship requirements and why you want to work for their company.

Once you’ve successfully landed an internship, you should start imagining yourself a fully paid member of staff and behave accordingly. Also, try to build up a relationship with the team members, then they’ll be more likely to give you a heads-up about jobs or offer you advice.

"After having trouble landing a job immediately out of college, due partly to lack of practical job experience, I began looking for internship opportunities," Crounse says. "After interviewing and being offered a temporary gig, I realized I couldn't afford to take an internship."

Crounse took a survival job for a year to earn and save money. He then contacted the person who had made him the internship offer the year before, and she made the same offer again, which he accepted.

"So, one full year after I graduated college, I started my internship," Crounse says. "Three-and-a-half months later, after my internship had ended, the company brought me back to work as a full-time employee."

Create Your Own Internship:

Andrea Dine, assistant director of the Career Development Center at Macalester College in St. Paul, tells of a 2002 grad who wanted to work in government. The student was passionate about the environment and had strong communication and persuasion skills.

"He researched political officials who had successfully campaigned with a pro-environment platform," Dine says. "He then contacted a state senator who fit the profile. This senator had never had an intern before, but my student successfully convinced the senator to hire him to research and write position papers on environmental issues and handle constituent correspondence."

An internship might not be your first choice for postgraduation employment. But in this job market, it may be the best way for you to build the experience and personal connections you need to land the job you want -- eventually.
