JTET Exam Pattern 2024

JTET Exam Pattern: The JTET assessment is conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council and is a teacher Eligibility Entrance Exam for admission of the candidates to primary teaching positions in the schools of Jharkhand. The Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Exam is conducted every year and the candidates who are interested in taking up a career in teaching apply for the Jharkhand TET.

Candidates who want to apply for Primary and Upper Primary teaching positions in Jharkhand State-run schools can apply for the Jharkhand Teacher selection examination. The JTET Examination is conducted by the Academic Council of Jharkhand which is recognized by the State Government of Jharkhand. The Examination is held for the selection of teachers in Primary and Upper Primary Classes in the Government schools of Jharkhand.

  • The total time for the Jharkhand TET Exam Pattern is 2 hours 30 minutes for each paper.
  • All the questions are multiple-choice.

Important Characteristics of JTET Exam Pattern 2024 for the Level 1 Test

  • The topics mentioned in Child Development and Pedagogy are based on the teaching and learning pattern of the children who are in the age group of 6 years to 14 years. Child development and Pedagogy focus on the educational Psychology of the children, the requirements of the learners, and the chief attributes that are necessary to become a good learner. The main emphasis of this section is laid on the fact that how can children in the age group of 6 to 14 years can become good learners.
  • In the language 1 section, there are several language options that the candidate can choose from. This section focuses on the language proficiency of the candidate based on his/her medium of instruction.
  • The candidate can choose from the mentioned languages in the Language 2 section. The candidates cannot choose the language that he/she has already chosen in the Language 1 section. The selected language should be mentioned by the candidate in the JTET Application Form. This language section lays emphasis on the abilities of communication and comprehension in the specific language.
  • The last part that consists of Mathematics and Environmental studies consists of concept-based topics and understanding of the subjects. The question paper will be based on the subjects and topics that are mentioned in the syllabus of Classes I to V for Jharkhand Government Schools.

Important Characteristics of the JTET Exam Pattern 2024 for Level 2 Test

  • The child Development and Pedagogy section will focus on the educational psychology of the children who fall in the age group of 11 to 14 years. This section teaches the needs and characteristics of the learners between the age group of 11 to 14 years, attributes of a good learner, and the factors that facilitate good learning skills in the children.
  • Language 1 is a proficiency test that assesses the candidates on the selected language as the medium of instruction of the JTET Exams.
  • In the language 2 paper, the candidate can choose any language other than that selected in the Language 1 paper. The main objective of this paper is to analyze the communication and comprehension abilities of the candidates.
  • The subject test papers on Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies focus on the problem-solving and pedagogical abilities of the candidates. The syllabus is mainly based on the topics that are taught in the Upper Primary Classes( VI to VIII) of the State Government schools in Jharkhand.
  • The questions of the examination for Jharkhand TET Level 2 are mainly based on the syllabus of Classes VI to VIII but the candidates are advised to study from the Senior Secondary syllabus of the Jharkhand Government schools as well for scoring well in the exams.
Eligibility and Qualifying Marks for Appearing in the JTET Exams:

Now that we have seen the JTET Paper Pattern for 2024 let us check the qualifying marks that a candidate should obtain for jobs as Primary and Upper Primary Teachers in the state-run schools of Jharkhand.

  • General category candidates should get at least 60% marks to qualify for the Jharkhand TET Examination.
  • Candidates belonging to the Scheduled castes, differently-abled/Physically challenged category should get 52% in the Jharkhand TET Examination.
