Goa TET Exam Pattern 2024:

Goa TET is conducted every year by the government of Goa in order to select the deserving eligible candidates for becoming Teachers at Primary and Upper Primary levels. The question paper of the Goa TET Exam follows a certain pattern that is bifurcated on the topics of various subjects in paper 1 and Paper 2 categorically.

By getting an insight into the type of subjects included in the Goa TET Exam Pattern, the respective candidates gain their chance of performing substantially while appearing in the respective exam.

The candidates can appear for either Paper 1 (for teaching Class- I to V), Paper 2 (for teaching Class- VI-VIII), or both Paper 1 & 2 (for teaching in Class- I to VIII).

Paper 1 consists of subjects like Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Paper 2 comprises subjects like Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, and the remaining subjects in Goa TET 2024 Paper-II will be Mathematics and Science for mathematics and Science Teacher or Social Science for Social Studies/ Social Science teachers.

The Goa TET Exam Pattern 2024 paper 1 will contain a total of 5 subjects which are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. The time allotted to complete the exam paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. There will be 150 questions in total where each section will consist of 30 questions. The total marks for paper 1 are 150 where each section consists of 30 marks. All the subjects present in paper 1 are compulsory to attend.

The Goa TET Exam Paper 2 will consist of subjects like  Child Development and pedagogy, Language I, Language II, and mathematics and Science for mathematics and Science teachers whereas, Social Science for the Social Studies/ Social Science teachers.

The subjects such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and Language II will consist of 30 questions each carrying 30 marks each and the remaining subjects that are Mathematics and science for Mathematics and Science teachers or Social Science for Social Studies/Science teachers will consist of 60 questions which carry 60 marks. 

The Eligibility Criteria for the Goa TET Exam 2024:

The Goa TET is organized with a motive to select the candidates who fit the eligibility criteria as well as qualify for the ability test for teaching posts at Primary (class- I to V) and Upper Primary Level (Class- VI to VIII). The Goa TET exam comprises two papers that are Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for the candidates who are aspiring to become teachers for class- I to V and the questions and difficulty level of the question paper will lie around the course of secondary level.

Paper 2 will be for the candidates who are aspiring to become teachers for classes- VIth to VIIIth and the questions and level of difficulty of the paper comprises the senior secondary courses. 

Below are the eligibility criteria for the candidates intending to qualify for Goa TET with respect to Paper 1 and Paper 2. 

Required Minimum Qualification for Goa Paper Paper 1st (Teaching class I to V):

The candidates who want to appear for paper 1 are in the Goa TET Exam are required to have completed their senior secondary education (class 12th) with at least 50% marks and have passed or are appearing in the 2-year course in Diploma in Elementary education. 

OR

The candidates are required to have completed their senior secondary education (class 12th) with a minimum mark of 50% and have passed or are appearing in the final year of the 4-year course in the Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EL.ED). 

OR

The candidates are required to have completed their senior secondary education (class 12th) with a minimum mark of 50% and have passed or are appearing in the final year of the 2-year course of Diploma in Education (Special Education). 

OR

The candidates are required to have completed their BA/BSc or graduation with at least 50% marks and have passed or are appearing in the 2-year course in Diploma in Elementary Education. 

Required Minimum Qualification for Goa Paper Paper 2nd (Teaching class VI to VIII):

The candidate is required to have completed their BA/BSc or graduation with at least 50% marks and have passed or are appearing in the final year of their Bachelor in Education. 

OR

The candidates are required to have completed their BA/BSc or graduation with at least 50% marks and have passed or are appearing in the 2-year course in Diploma in Elementary Education. 

OR

The candidates are required to have completed their Senior Secondary Education (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and have passed or are appearing in the 4-year course of Diploma in Elementary Education. 

OR

The candidates are required to have completed their senior secondary education (class 12th) with at least 50% marks and have passed or are appearing in the final year of the B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR

The candidates are required to have completed their BA/BSc or graduation with at least 50% marks and have passed or are appearing in the final year of their Bachelor in Education (Special Education). 

Minimum Qualification required for Paper 1 and Paper 2 (Class- 1 to 8)

The candidates are required to have completed their senior secondary education (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and have completed or are appearing in the final year of their 4-year course in the Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EL.ED)

OR

The candidate is required to have completed their BA/ B.Sc or graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and have completed or are appearing in the 2-year course that is Diploma in Elementary Education. 

Relaxation Of Marks:

The candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST/Differently abled, etc.) are allowed a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying exam’s marks
