About BTKIT, Almora:

Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology, Almora was established in 1986 under the guidance of Shri Narayan Dutt Tiwari, Government of India. The institute is located in Almora, Uttarakhand. 155 acres of land was allotted to the college. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved the Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology, Almora. The BTKIT Almora is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).  The Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology is managed by the Board of Governors and Honorable Minister of technical education and it is a public institute of technology. 

In 1991, the institute started its first academic session in B.E with 2 branches ECE and CSE.  the aim of the institute was to develop the engineering and technology education facilities in the  Kumaon area. In 1996, the BTKIT prepared a plan to start and develop colleges in different fields of education. Now, the Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology, Almora offers seven graduate engineering programs that are Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and two postgraduate programs Master of Computer Application (MCA) and Master of Technology (M.Tech). Along with that the institute also offers a Doctorate of Philosophy(P.h.D.). 

The Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology, Almora offers good infrastructure facilities to its students and faculty.
