Courses and Fees OF IIT, Roorkee:

Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee offers 112 courses in science, engineering, architecture, and technology. At the undergraduate degree level, it offers courses in 10 streams of architecture and engineering. At the postgraduate degree level, it offers  55 courses in architecture and planning, engineering, and applied research. The institute also offers P.hD courses in research and all departments. Students can choose any course as per their interests and preferences which are offered by the institute.

Admission TO IIT, Roorkee:

Students who are willing to take admission to IIT, Roorkee are advised to check the entrance examination requirements and eligibility criteria of the institute for the particular course. There are specific eligibility criteria and entrance examinations for each course. Down below we have mentioned the eligibility criteria and selection criteria of each course:

For B.Tech 

• Students must have cleared 10+2 with science stream (physics, mathematics, and chemistry)
• They must have scored a minimum aggregate of 60% marks. 
• To get eligible for admission to IIT, students must clear the JEE Main exam and then go for the JEE Advanced. Students should score valid marks in JEE Advanced to get admission. 
• The admission process is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority(JoSAA) and students selection is based on their ranking of JEE Advanced examination. 

For M.Tech

• Students have to clear their bachelor’s (B.Tech) from a recognized university.
• Scored at least 60% of marks or 6 CGPA at 10. 
• Students have to apply for the GATE examination to get admission to the institute.
• GATE examination valid scores will lead the selection of the students to the institute. 

For B.Arch

• Students must have done class 12th with science stream from a recognized education board
• They must have scored a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.
• To get eligible for admission to IIT, students must clear the JEE Mian and JEE Advanced examinations. 
• The selection of the students will be based on the ranking of the JEE Advanced Examination.

For M.Arch 

• Students must have done a bachelor’s (B.Arch) from a recognized university.
• And scored at least 60% of marks.
• To get admission, students must have scored valid marks in the GATE entrance examination. 
• The selection of the students will be based on the score of the GATE examination. 

For M.Sc

• Students must have done bachelor’s (B.Sc, B.Tech, M.Tech) from a recognized university.
• Students must have scored a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.
• To get admission, students have to clear the IIT JAM entrance examination.
• The selection of the students is based on the score of the IIT JAM entrance examination. 

For MBA:

• Students must have cleared a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. 
• Students have to score at least 60% of marks in their bachelor’s degree.
• Along with that students have to appear in the CAT entrance examination and have to score valid marks.
• Students will be selected on the basis of the marks scored in the CAT entrance examination. 

For P.hD 

• Students must have done masters in relevant fields.
• And must have scored 60% of marks. 
• Need to appear in any of these entrance exam GATE/ JRF/GPAT/UGC NET and score valid marks. 
• Selection is done on the basis of qualifying examination score and PI, GD. 

Note - students can be selected directly, if they have scored 8 CGPA out of 10, then they are not required to attempt any entrance examination. 

Application Process of IIT, Roorkee:

• Students have to visit the official website of the IIT Roorkee
• Click on the course, which you’re going to pursue
• Then click on the tab of apply online
• Then get registered yourself, by filling out all the required details.
• After that log in with the help of your credentials and fill the application form carefully 
• Enter all the information personal and academic information in the required fields. 
• Then make a payment of the application form and then submit it.

Scholarship 1 - for first-year undergraduate students (B.Tech, B.Arch, Int. M.Tech, Int. M.Sc,) will get a fee waiver. 

Scholarship 2 - students who have ranked up to 250 in JEE Advanced(all India rank) will be eligible for the James Thomason Scholarship. Eligible students will get INR 25,000 per month during their entire program. With that, they have to score a CGPA of 8.0 at the end of every academic year of their program.
