The University of Engineering and Technology, Roorkee which is now known as the College of Engineering, Roorkee (COER) is a Private Engineering College which is located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. The institute is located on Delhi-Haridwar Highway- 58 which is about 180 km North of Delhi. Iconic institutions like IIT Roorkee, Central Building Research Institute, IIT Roorkee, National Institute of Hydrology, Irrigation Research Institute of Hydrology, Bengal Engineers Group, and Centre of Indian Army. The institute was founded in 1998 by the Seth Roshan Lal Jain Trust in 1988 as the first private engineering college in Roorkee.

The institute is known for its academic excellence and commitment to producing skilled engineers, the institute has been a prominent player in the field of technical education since its inception.

On February 15th,  2024  the Government also approved the institute as a State Private University. The institute aims to be a pioneer in the state of Uttrakhand and become a champion in the world of technical, agriculture, and management education. The university campus is designed and built on a beautiful sight on a highway. The campus is spread over 75 acres and has a predominantly white exterior. The university has produced alumni who are working alumni who are working in a premier position.
