Full Form of JNV:

Starting with JNV, the full form of JNV is Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya. It is a residential school that was set up by the Government of India in the year 1986 by Rajiv Gandhi. The alternate schools (all named JNV) are special schools for special students. JNV’s are fully residential and co-educational schools that are affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). They are specifically designed schools for students who belong to the classes 5th till 12th. 

The main aim of JNV schools is to find talented and studious or gifted students among the backwaters of the country of India and give them an equal chance at education by providing them an education that is at par with the educational standards of many private schools for the middle class or rich start Indians. It is tasked with aiming to provide incentives to the families of these poor students by ensuring that the residential wing provided a safe and sound home for the students, so as to not overburden the parents of these children.

There are over six hundred JNV schools in the country, all established with the purpose of finding and providing a national level of education to students belonging to the lower-income and economic strata of the country.  The students who stay and study in JNV, stay free of cost during their seven years of stay until they complete their education. JNV schools exist all over the country except for the State of Tamil Nadu. 

For every JNV, there is a Vidhyalaya Advisory Committee, which is a special organization for the specific school which aids in different aspects of the curriculum design, infrastructure, academic and co-scholastic areas, and other general activities of the schools. It advises the head of the school with all the above-mentioned regulations and guidelines to enable the smooth functioning of the daily activities of every school activity. JNVs are known for their excellent track records and academic standards that are set by students every year in both the 10th-grade board exams and the 12th-grade board exams. Students are also required to take three languages during their seven years, out of which Hindi, English as compulsory languages. The third language is usually a regional language.

Entrance Exam for JNV:

Apart from the mandatory and the official documents the students have to appear for an admission test before they can gain admission to any of the JNV schools. The admission form is released on the official website and the students along with the help of their parents are expected to fill up the form and attach the necessary documents. The application form is available free of cost. The admission test is a purely offline mode with a paper and pen method. It is held in two phases in the country, with each phase the test is conducted in different cities. Candidates who [ass the tests are then eligible for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission in JNV:

The entrance in any JNV is merit-based and candidates can gain admission only on merit basis of JNV entrance tests which are specifically designed to test a student's merit despite his or her other disadvantages. More than half of the classes at JNV are technology equipped with smart classes mode of teaching. These schools also organize regular workshops and science-related exhibitions to ensure that candidates get an analytical and research-oriented mindset.

The full Form of NVS is Navodya Vidyalaya Samiti is an autonomous government organization which like JNV comes under the Government of India. NVS is also established with the aim of providing a national level of education, which is, quality level education for talented children who especially hail from the rural part of the country. The economic and socio condition is taken into consideration, and due to this the children stay and study free of cost during the years they stay in the school and pass out. There are a total of eight regional NVS offices in different states, namely, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Patna, Lucknow, Shillong, Pune with many different jurisdictions over states and union territories all over India.

At present, there are about 590 NVS schools in the entire country. NVS is also responsible for the smooth functioning of the JNV schools. Admission in the NVS is also an entrance merit-based test where the candidates are supposed to appear for the entrance exam where the candidate’s aptitude and merit. Since only exceptional candidates are admitted, the entrance merit-based test is tough. 

Navodya Vidyalaya has only recently started functioning at full mode, they have produced alumni in almost every field including the mainstream fields such as Engineers, Scientists, Doctors, Civil Servants, Chartered Accountants, and Entrepreneurs. The success of the students who pass out of NVS simply owes their success stories to the schools operated by the government given their economic and socio backgrounds. 

The NVS is a fully residential school, CBSE affiliated and functions with the aim of finding talented young students and enabling them a chance of equality in terms of education. The students from class Vi till Class XII would have around 80 students, which is further proof of the scant number of students who are gifted enough to get admission in NVS. 

The focus of these NVS schools is also on other areas of the student's life apart from academics. Areas such as scouting and guiding in NCC, NSS camps, cultural activities such as music, arts, drama, theatre, etc. The schools also host many competitions of the students such as Inter-School debate competitions, drama and literature seminars and exhibitions, dances, and the like. These competitions and exhibitions are held by the students at both the regional and national levels for all students and their parents. 

Sports are also an integral part of the school curriculum and the student's daily life, allotting at least two hours of daily exercise and sports activities, such as Kho-Kho, basketball, football, volleyball, handball, hockey, cricket, badminton, kabaddi, etc. The NVS campus is also equipped with gymnasiums and swimming pools, and other indoor game arenas, such as table tennis, chess, etc. Interschool competitions also ensure that the students develop as sound individuals with a holistic developed personality and not just a focus on academic studies.  

Full Form of KVS:

The full Form of KVS is Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is a system of government schools in India. It has been specifically designed for students of government officials who are at transferable posts. The biggest reason why these schools were established was so that the children of transferable government officials do not suffer from interrupted education even if their parents transferred from state to state or region to region. KVS schools were known as Central Schools and later Kendriya Vidyala Sangathan. 

There are a total of twelve hundred schools in the country all operating in different parts of the country as well some situated overseas for children of diplomats transferred or stationed in countries abroad.  It is one of the world's largest chains of schools. The fee charged by KVS is very low and is usually paid by the government salaries of their parents. Children of army officials are usually the ones that attain admission in KVS. KVS schools are managed and run by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

A uniform curriculum and course are followed by all the schools under the KVS aegis. By this uniformity, it is easier to achieve the sole reason for the establishment of KVS, which is to provide uninterrupted study for transferrable government officials mainly the Indian Defence Services personnel. However, since the upcoming of the Army with their own schools Army Public Schools, the KVS extended its doors for other transferable personnel and their children. 

The KVS schools have various committees for the overall development of the students in terms of their personality and academic milestones. Apart from that, the committees are also responsible for the maintenance of the school infrastructure and system. The most important of the committees is the VMC (Vidyalaya Management Committee). 

Sanskrit is taught as a compulsory subject for students of class VI till class VIII. All schools share a common syllabus and offer classroom instructions in both English and Hindi languages, making the instruction bilingual. The KVS is also co-educational with the girls who are the only child of their parents exempted from paying the tuition fee and contributing to the school development fund. Apart from this, the children belonging to Scheduled Tribes or the Scheduled Caste category are also exempted from paying the tuition fees. 

A total of one million students are currently studying in the thousand schools under the name KVS. The only three KVS outside of India are located in Kathmandu, Moscow, and Tehran. These schools situated outside India are intended only for the children of Indian nationals of the Indian Embassy and other expatriate employees of the Government of India.
