SSC CGL 2019 exam syllabus

SSC CGL Syllabus 2019 - 2020 | Check Tier 1, 2, 3 & 4 Syllabus:

SSC CGL Exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) every year. Eligible and interested aspirants can visit the website for further details regarding the SSC CGL Exam. Aspirants can get the syllabus through online mode at www.ssc.nic.in. there are 4 tiers exams conducting in this exam. The First 2 Tiers i.e., Tier- I & II having online. And Tier- III & IV are conducting offline. 

Tier- I & II are compulsory subjects for all the Posts mentioned in the SSC CGL Exam. and Tier- III is especially for those who are applying for the post of  Statistical Investigator Grade-II & Compiler. Furthermore, Tier- IV is taken by aspirants applying especially for TA, CSS, MEA and Inspector. The complete syllabus for Tier- I, Tier- II, Tier- III, Tier- IV are as follows:

SSC CGL Tier- I Syllabus:

Tier- I syllabus included major sections that are General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence and Reasoning, English comprehension. 

SSC CGL Tier-II Syllabus:

After the Tier- I Exam has been completed, it will be necessary to gear up for the Mains Exams i.e., SSC CGL Tier- II Exam. in the Tier- II syllabus, the subjects are Statistics, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language. 

SSC CGL Tier- III Syllabus:

SSC CGL Tier- III exam is a descriptive exam with written skills of the aspirants in Hindi and English. It is the offline mode of examination. Here, aspirants can be asked to write essays, precis, application, letter etc. in the Tier- III Written Examination. There will be 100 marks carries this entrance exam with time duration of 60 minutes. The time allotted to PwD category aspirants is increased to 80 minutes. This paper is given by the specific aspirants who are interested only for the post of “Statistical Investigator Grade-II” & “Compiler”.  

SSC CGL Tier- IV Syllabus:

Tier- IV paper is also an offline mode of examination. This paper includes only 2 phases i.e., DEST (Data Entry and Speed Test), CPT (Computer Proficiency Test). 

• DEST:-

Data Entry and Speed Test exam through SSC CGL is conducted to check the typing speed of the aspirants. In the Tier- IV exam, given an English topic or article which they have to type on the computer. In addition, the aspirants have to write 2000 words in 15 minutes. This exam is conducted for the post of Tax  Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax). 

• CPT:- 

This is the exam for the post of CSS, MEA, Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner). Here, it includes topics such as Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Generation Of Slides of the 3 modules that are important for this exam. Also, they have to be proficient in it. 

The Scheme of the Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below:

1st Tier: Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

2nd Tier: Main Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

3rd Tier: Personality Test/Interview or Skill Test, where applicable Candidates opting for post of Sub-Inspector in CPOs will be required to undergo Physical Endurance Test (PET)/Medical Examination at any convenient time after declaration of result of Tier I
