SSC CGL 2019 Exam:-

Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC CGL ) is a National Level Exam conducted every year by the Staff Selection Commission of India. SSC conducts SSC CGL once in a year to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in its Subordinate Offices like the Indian Coast Guard, Intelligence Bureau (IB), Ministry of Railways, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), etc. The posts are classified into groups of A, B, C and D. Around 20 to 30 lakh of people register for SSC CGL every year out of which around 10 to 15 lakh people take the exam. The exam is conducted in 4 stages based on the post.

This year the exam is expected to be conducted from 4th June to 19th June 2019. For SSC CGL 2019, level-1 and level-2 exams will be conducted online(computer-based exam) and level-3 will be a descriptive offline (pen paper-based) exam. Level -4 is a Computer Proficiency Test (required for some posts only) and document verification for the candidates selected in level-3.

Eligibility Criteria - SSC CGL 2019

A candidate is required to fulfil the following criteria to be eligible for this exam. The eligibility measures for the recruitment examination is given below:

1. Educational Qualifications

The Candidates must hold a graduate degree on or before 01.08.2019. Candidates, who are in their final year of graduation can also apply for the exam with their provisional degrees.

  1. a) Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer

Primary Qualifications: Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant /Cost & Management Accountant /Company Secretary / Masters I Commerce/ Masters in Business Studies / a Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics

  1. b) Junior Statistical Officer

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with minimum 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the core subjects at degree level.

2. Age Limit

The authorities have increased the Age limit for the exam enrollment, though the age differs from post to post. The minimum age limit marked for the exam is 27 years and the maximum age limit criteria are 32 years.

SSC CGL 2019 Exam Eligibility - Based on Nationality

A candidate must be either:

  • A citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal
  • A subject of Bhutan
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the purpose of lasting settlement.
  • Tibetan exile who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the aim of permanent settlement,

A candidate must be physically fit as per the norms of the inspector as there are some prerequisites for physical fitness for the post of Inspector(Central/ State Excise/ Preventive Officer/ Examiner), Sub-Inspector in Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) and sub-inspector in NIA (National Investigation Agency).

SSC CGL: Exam centres
  • Choice of centre: Candidates are given an opportunity to choose three cities as their exam centres in the application form.
  • Order: These Exam centres are to be provided in the candidate's order of preference. The first preferred city should be that to which they can easily travel to write the exam.
  • Other Preferences: The other two preferences of exam centres are provided to handle the following cases:
  • Total seats for the city of your first choice have already been filled.
  • Exam centre has been cancelled.
  • Allotment: The exam centres are allotted by SSC on a first come first serve basis. Thus, candidates are advised to complete their Application process at the earliest as only this can guarantee that they get the city of their first choice.
