➦ The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a National Fellowship program in Basic Science. This program is initiated by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. This program was started in the year 1999 which is funded by the government of India. The main objective of this program is to identify the talent within the students and to attract highly motivated exceptional students for pursuing basic science programs and have a career in science research.
➦ This program will enable the students to realize their academic potential and encourage them to take a career path in science and research to ensure the growth of scientific mind Research and for the development of the country. The selection of students in Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is done on the basis of marks obtained by the students in class 12th.
➦ The selection of students can be done from the students studying in class 11th to the 1st year of any undergraduate program in Basic Science such as BSc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Biology having an aptitude for scientific research.
➦ For the selection of candidates, special committees are set up at IISc for the screening and to conduct the aptitude test at various examination centers in the country.BSc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology having an aptitude for scientific research and the performance of the aptitude test.

Best on the performance in aptitude test students are shortlisted who will be called upon for an interview which can be considered as the final stage of the selection procedure. to receive a fellowship the marks of both aptitude tests and interviews are considered.
Details of KVPY 2025 Exam:
The Department of Science & Technology (DST) has entrusted the responsibility for organizing and running the KVPY 2025 Exam Program for the Indian Student of Science. This includes setting up the Management Committee and a NAC team (National Advisory Committee) to oversee the implementation of this program.
A core committee is also organized to look after the day-to-day academic aspects of the program. An empowerment initiative has been taken by the KVPY Fellowship program to provide a certain number of additional fellowships exclusively for the reserved category belonging to the SC/ST community. A few numbers of fellowship is also awarded for the various streams exclusively for the candidates who fall under the Person with Disability (PwD) category.

There are three streams of students who can apply for the KVPY fellowship program:
The KVPY Fellowship program is offered to students who are willing to continue their higher education in India. The students who are pursuing an undergraduate program under the mode of distance education/correspondence from any university are not eligible to apply for the KVPY fellowship program. Students studying in class 11th to the 1st year of any undergraduate course in Basic Science can apply for the KVPY Exam 2025, provided they must satisfy the required eligibility requirements.
Below we have mentioned the eligibility criteria for all three streams of students. the applicants or we can say that the students willing to enrol in this fellowship program must satisfy these eligibility requirements in order to apply for KVPY Exam 2025.

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of performance in the aptitude test. And finally, they will be called upon for the interview round which is the final stage of the selection procedure. The performance of both the aptitude tests and interviews will be taken into consideration and finally, the scholarship will be granted.
To perform well in the aptitude test the candidates must know the KVPY Exam Pattern and they must go through the KVPY Syllabus which varies for different streams.
