IIT JAM Exam 2026 Eligibility Criteria

On its official website, the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras announced the IIT JAM 2026 eligibility criteria. Before applying for M.Sc programs, candidates should review the JAM eligibility criteria.

JAM 2026 eligibility criteria might assist students in learning the minimum course requirements before applying for admissions. The JAM eligibility criteria may differ depending on the program given by the IITs and partner universities.

• Nationality: The exam is open to both Indian and foreign nationals. Students must, however, meet additional eligibility restrictions such as age limit and qualification to take the test.
• Age Restrictions: There are no age restrictions for IIT JAM 2026.
• Educational Requirements: A Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, Physics, or Chemistry is required. Candidates in their last year are also able to apply.

1. Marks must be computed by taking into account all topics, including languages and subsidiaries from all years combined.
2. Candidates in the General/OBC (NCL) category must have a minimum aggregate of 55% or 5.5 out of 10 CGPA/CPI without rounding off.
3. Candidates from the SC/ST and PwD categories must have a graduation grade point average of at least 50%, or 5.0 out of 10.
