CUCET Full form is Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) which is now renamed as Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is a national level entrance exam conducted to provide admissions to top-ranking Central universities in India. Earlier, CUCET Exam is conducted jointly by 14 central universities but with the effect of the year 2023, this exam will be administered by NTA (National Testing Agency). The main purpose of this CUCET 2023 is to take admission of the candidates in UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses offered in all the participating institutions. The online registration of the CUCET Application will commence in the first week of June 2023. The CUCET 2023 for UG courses is likely to be held in the first week of July.
CUET 2023 News Update: According to the new guidelines of UGC, CUCET 2023 exam (now renamed as CUET 2023) is mandatory for getting admissions to UG courses (Bachelor degree courses) in any of the 45 Central Universities of India. This step is taken by UGC to ease the burden of the 12th students. Till the last year, most of the central universities used to admit students on the basis of their 12th board marks. But now the 12th score will no more affect the admission process in these universities. Admissions to all the undergraduate courses will be offered solely on the basis of their CUCET scores. CUCET is now renamed CUET and this exam will be administered by National Testing Agency.
Last year the exam was held in 308 centers across 161 cities in India and a total of 97,416 candidates appeared in the CUET 2021 Exam. This year a higher no. of candidates are expected to sit in the exam as UGC has made the exam compulsory for undergraduate admissions in all central universities.
The CUCET 2023 Exam is held once a year across 161 cities in India. It is a computer-based entrance test held in online mode at the examination centers. Until last year UGC used o conduct this exam in pen-paper mode but now NTA has taken the charge and now it will conduct the exam in Computer Based Mode. It is held in 13 languages which are Engish, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Odia, Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, and Urdu. The exam will comprise of a language test, two domain-specific tests, and a general test. The total duration of the CUET 2023 exam is two hours. This year all 54 universities are likely to participate in this exam, especially for UG Admissions 2023. Many central universities also use the CUCET PG score to provide admissions to postgraduate courses.
Candidates who want to apply for undergraduate courses, post-graduate courses, or doctoral courses can apply for the CUET exam. If you have completed your 12th or appear in the 12th board exams this year and wish to pursue a Bachelor's degree course (UG) afterward, then you should apply for CUET (UG) Exam 2023.
