The syllabus for the exam is released by its conducting body in the month of December. With the help of CLAT 2019 syllabus, the appearing candidates will get an overview of the questions included in the law entrance examination. The syllabus will help the applicant know the areas where they are strong and the areas which need more practice.
This year, CLAT 2019 is conducted on 12th May. CLAT 2019 syllabus consists of 5 sections: English Including Comprehension, Elementary Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, Legal Aptitude, and General Knowledge and Current affairs.
General Knowledge and Current affairs
This includes the latest happenings and general knowledge
English Including Comprehension
Fill in the blanks, correcting sentences, Vocabulary, Comprehension passages, etc.
Questions related to law, some legal maximum and legal propositions
Basic level maths including Number System, Percentage, t and Distance, Geometry, Algebra, Trigonometry, Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Height etc.
Questions related to blood relations, analogies, syllogism and some logical sequences.
General knowledge and Current Affairs: This part will comprise questions from general awareness including static GK. Questions will also cover the recent topics and current affairs from last year.
English with Comprehension: In this segment, applicants will be given questions from English Comprehension. Students will also have to give Grammar, Vocabulary and Fill in the blanks test.
Legal Aptitude: This segment will test the candidates' interest in law, legal terms and problem-solving abilities.
Elementary Mathematics: This segment will comprise maths from Class 10th.
Logical reasoning: This segment will have questions related to, blood relations, identifying patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments.
Jurisprudence is the theoretical study of law learned to gain a deep understanding of legal systems, legal institutions, legal reasoning and their role in our society.
Law of Torts
This is a new common law development supplemented by codifying statutes including statutes governing damages.
This part will consist of questions related to marriage, adoption, paternity, child custody, domestic partnership, surrogacy and juvenile law.
