Raja Balwant Singh Engineering Technical Campus

Late Raja Balwant Singh College laid the foundation of RBS College in the year 1885. He was the ruler of Awagarh Estate and was respected for his vision for spreading education.

Raja Balwant Singh college was earlier known as Balwant Singh college. It is a renowned college of Agra which started with a small infrastructure to accommodate only twenty students in the year 1885. The institute was set up in the outhouse of Kotla House which is placed in Bagh Farzana region of Civil Lines in Agra. RBS is highly known for its Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

The college imparts the best knowledge in B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Pharm and B.Arch courses and has earned a huge name in the field of Technical education. Balwant Educational Society governs the college whose chairperson is the District and Session Judge, Agra as the president. Raja Anirudh Pal Singh Ji who belongs from the royal family of Awagarh is the Vice President of the same.

In the year 1996, The Faculty of Engineering and Technology was set up with the three departments in engineering i.e. Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Food Technology.

The Chemical Engineering branch of Engineering was added in the year 1999. Later in the year, 2004 two more branches were included of Engineering viz Biotechnology and Mechanical Engineering. After 2 years i.e. in 2006 Food Technology branch was added in the postgraduation course of Engineering i.e. Master in technology (M.Tech). In this course, only 18 were made available for admission.

All the courses of the college are certified by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). RBS is now affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. AKTU Technical University, Lucknow (College code-004). Earlier the college was associated with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra. The architecture graduation course, B.Arch course is recognized by Council of Architecture (Code- UP33) while B.Pharm course is certified by the Pharmacy Council of India (Code -1122).

FACILITIES PROVIDED BY RBS

The college authority various kinds of facilities for its students so that don’t face any kind of hurdle and get the best education. The college ranks amongst the Top 10 colleges of Agra because of its well-maintained facilities and faculty.

Canteen - For interaction and eating the healthy snacks, a cafeteria is made available for both students and faculty. Delicious and hygienic food items are served to students for mid-day craving at a reasonable price.

Computer Center & Internet - Latest computers are installed in the labs with high-speed internet facility. All students are trained with the latest hardware and software. The speed of the internet is 25Mbps and is available throughout the campus. All students and staff can access the system and internet for academic and research use.

Guest House - A guest is there which has Ac conditioned rooms for parents/guardians visiting their child. These rooms are also provided to the official and non-official guest of professors and examiners.

Library - The library of the college is accoutred with Air conditioners and a reading for students and staff for comfortable reading. The collection of the books is huge as it consists of almost Thirty-five Thousand (35,000) books and 6000 Titles. Various Journals of Technology and sciences are made accessible to students. A rich collection of One hundred and Forty-five journals including Forty-Six foreign journals and twenty-two magazines are also made accessible to students for keeping themselves update about current affairs.

A digital library is equipped with an adequate number of latest computer with high-speed internet connectivity, e-books, and journals, LCD projector, database, and software. Library of RBS is a proud member of DELNET for the study of e-journals and e-books. Well educated librarians are hired for running the library and satisfactory number staff is also appointed for further help.

Medical - For the medical help, RBS has appointed well-qualified practitioners. Students can take advantage of these facilities free of cost. Medical facilities are available for students round the clock during college hours. The college has also signed a contract with best hospitals of Agra to treat students in case of an emergency. The ambulance is also there for the same purpose.

Sports - RBS college has a huge Sports ground within the campus. All the facilities of playing sports like football, Hockey, Cricket, Basketball, and Volleyball are made accessible to students. Tournaments are organized at University level which gives students an opportunity to showcase their talent and sports skills. The annual sports meet is organized each year in which all the students take part. Sports facilities like are Table Tennis, Carom. Chess and Badminton also accessible by hostelers.

Transport - The bus facility is provided to day-scholars for saving time. Reasonable price is charged for this facility. These buses are also used for examination and industrial visits.
