NDA

The National Defence Academy (NDA) exam is one of the most prestigious exams conducted by UPSC twice a year. This exam is taken by candidates aspiring to join the Indian Armed Forces. Candidates should be between 16-19 years of age. A candidate must either be a citizen of India,  a subject of Bhutan, or a subject of Nepal. A candidate should have passed the 12th class from a recognized board. The marital status of the candidate must be Single.

CDS

The Combined Defence Service Examination (CDS) is conducted by UPSC to recruit Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. Those candidates who see their future can enroll in this exam. The candidate should be between 18 and 24 years of age. The candidate’s marital status must be Single.

AFCAT

AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. It is an examination conducted for the candidate who wants to join the Indian Air Force after graduation. An AFCAT-eligible candidate can choose from multiple branches they want to join, such as Flying Branch, Technical Branch, etc. Candidate must be a citizen of India. Candidates must have completed their Graduation with a minimum of 3 years degree from any recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks.

SSB

It stands for Service Selection Board which is an organization that selects candidates for becoming officers in the Indian Armed Forces. There is no limitation to the number of attempts a candidate can give. Candidates must have passed class 12th from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks. A candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal, and Bhutan only. A candidate's age must be between 18-25 years.

RIMC

Rashtriya Indian Military College, or RIMC for short, is a boys’ military school in Doon Valley, Dehradun, India. The Indian Naval Academy, the National Defence Academy eventually  the Indian Armed Forces all have their feeder institution in the RIMC. The candidate must be between the 11 to 18 years of age on 1 Jan or 1 July of the term they join in. The candidate must have passed Class 7th or must be studying in Class 7th.
