GATE Entrance Exam Pattern 2026
With the release of the official notification, the conducting authorities will also release the GATE Exam Pattern 2026. The question paper will consist of two types of questions; MCQs and NAT.
As already discussed, GATE Exam 2026 will be held in online mode for 24 disciplines with 3 sections namely, General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and the specific subject of the paper. The following are the specifications of the MCQs and NAT types of questions.
(i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ): This type of question carry 1 or 2 marks for each in all papers and sections. These are objective in nature, and each will have a choice of four answers, out of which the aspirants have to mark the correct answer(s).
(ii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT): This type of question will also carry 1 or 2 marks for each in all papers and sections. For NAT, an answer is a real number that must be entered by the aspirants using the virtual keypad. No choices will be given for this type of question.
