GATE Application Form 2025

GATE Application Form: The GATE 2025 exam is a national-level entrance examination conducted by IITs and IISc on the behalf of NCB-GATE. This exam is conducted to offer admission to M. Tech. and M.Sc. courses in Engineering, Architect, and Technology fields. From this exam candidates also get admission into various branches of Ph.D. The exam will be held tentatively in the 1st week of February 2025 and the GATE 2025 Application process will probably start in the first week of September 2025. GATE 2025 Aspirants have to register on the official website of the GATE before filling the application form. 

All the candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria of GATE 2025 before filling up the application form. In case of a candidate's ineligibility, the application of the candidate will be rejected by the authorities.

The eligible candidates can register themselves on  GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System).

GATE Registration Form 2025

Candidates are advised to fill out the application form carefully. Incorrect details in the GATE registration form are subjected to application rejection. However, the authorities will give a chance to make the corrections in the application form. Candidates who have done any mistake in the application form will be able to edit their application form and fill in the correction details once the GATE Application Correction Window opens.

Steps to Fill the GATE Application Form 2025

Step 1: Register On GOAPS official Website.

• To begin the application process, all the candidates are first requested to visit the official website of GOAPS. They will be able to register themselves for GATE 2025 Entrance exam on this website.
• Click on the Register link and enter a valid email address, mobile no. and create a password. Please note that all sorts of communication regarding the GATE 2025 will be sent on the registered email and mobile no. , so please provide accessible and valid contact details.
• During the registration process, all the candidates have to choose a GOAPS password that will be used for the login along with the GOAPS Enrollment ID. Please create your password carefully and remember it. The password should be a strong one and hard to guess. Avoid using the candidate’s name, date of birth, or any easy to guess a string of numbers or letters like 12345 or abcd) in your GOAPS Password.
• After Completing the GATE 2025 Registration, an enrollment ID will be sent to your registered email ID. This enrollment ID will be your GOAPS Enrollment ID.

Step 2: Fill out the GATE 2025 Application Form 

• After GATE 2025 Registration, the candidates will have to fill out the application form for which they need to log in to the official website of GOAPS. 
• To login to the official website by using your GOAPS Enrollment ID and GOAPS Password.
• After successfully logging in to the website, you will be able to fill out the GATE Registration Form.  

The following are the details you need to fill in the GATE Entrance Form :

Details required to be filled in GATE 2025 Application Form:

• Personal Details Name (as stated on the degree certificates), date of birth, Mobile No. , Parent's name, and Mobile No.
• Postal Address  
• Qualification details such as eligibility degree (scanned copy), college name, address with Pincode
• Scanned copies of Candidate's Passport size photograph, signature (Photograph 480*640 pxl in Jpeg format with white background)
• Details and scanned copy of the valid Identity Proof Document (ID) (The same ID, in original, should be carried to the examination hall)
• Preferred Cities for exam centers
• Category (SC/ST) certificate (if applicable) in Pdf format
• Scanned copy of PwD Certificate (if applicable), Dyslexic Certificate (if applicable) in Pdf format
• Net-banking/debit card/credit card details for fee payment 

Step 3: Pay the Application Fee 

After filling up the required details in the GATE 2025 Application Form and uploading the required documents, the candidates will have to complete the application process by paying the GATE 2025 Application Fee. Below we have mentioned the details related to the GATE 2025 Application Fee :

Steps to Pay the GATE Application Form Fee 

• After completing the form filling process, submit the GATE 2025 Application form. Once you click on the "submit" button, the website will redirect you to GATE's online payment gateway page. 
• Now choose the bank and mode of the payment as displayed on the page. You can pay the application fee using a debit card, credit card, e-challan, or net banking.
• After successful payment of the GATE 2025 application form, you will be redirected to the GATE online application website, GOAPS will generate a unique “Fee Payment Number”. Save it for further use as you will have to fill the fee payment no. in the application.
• In case, you face any difficulty due to poor internet speed or power failure, you can log in again to your GOAPS account and check the status of your payment. You can also check the payment status with their bank.
• If the application fee amount is deducted from your bank accounts and GOAPS is not showing any confirmation and is not acknowledging any successful fee payment, then don't worry, the amount will be credited back to your bank account within 5-7 working days. In such a case, the candidate must have to initiate a new payment using the GOAPS payment gateway. 
• Before submitting the GATE 2025 Application Form, ensure that all the required details and documents are correct and uploaded in the required format. An application once submitted cannot be changed/rectified. The “current status” of an application will be updated after the receipt and scrutiny of the application by the respective zonal GATE Office. This status can be checked anytime by logging into GOAPS.

Documents Required to fill the GATE 2025 Application Form 

• A High-quality image of the candidate's photograph conforming to the specified requirements (File size should be between 2KB and 200KB)
• A good quality passport size photograph with the candidate's signature conforming to the specified requirements (File size should be between 2KB and 150KB)
• Scanned copy of the Educational Certificate in pdf format (Degree Certificate or Provisional Certificate or Certificate from the Head of the Department/ Institute (format specified in Appendix A of the Information Brochure) (The size of the file should be between 10 KB and 300 KB)
• Scanned copy of Caste (SC/ST) certificate (if applicable) in pdf format. (The size of the file should be between 10KB and 300KB)
• Scanned copy of PWD Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format (The size of the file should be between 10KB and 300KB)
• Scanned copy of Dyslexic Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format (The size of the file should be between 10KB and 300KB)
• Details of the valid Identity Document (ID) and the same ID, in original, should be carried to the Examination Centre.
• Required the details of Net-banking/debit card/credit card for fee payment, Valid Identity Document: Passport/ PAN card/ Voter ID/ Aadhaar-UID/ College ID/ Employee ID/ Driving License
• GATE 2025 Application Correction Process

GOAPS will also give you a chance to make corrections in the GATE Application form 2025. The GATE 2025 application correction window will be opened by the authorities probably in the 2nd week of October 2025. The candidates will be given a few days to edit and make corrections to their applications. However, they may have to pay some fee to make corrections. There is no fee for making changes in the choice of examination centers however in some cases of correction you will need to pay an application correction fee.

Procedure of GATE 2025 Application Form Correction

1. Visit the official website at www.gate.iitkgp.ac.in 
2. Click on the link that reads, ‘GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS),’ appearing on the page
3. Enter your credentials (Enrollment ID and Password) and log in
4. Make corrections in the application form.
5. And Submit the form after making the required changes.
6. Please note that there is no fee for making changes in the choice of examination centers however in some cases of correction you will need to pay an application correction fee.

Steps to Change the GATE 2025 paper

Many candidates might have entered the wrong choice of GATE 2025 Paper, they can correct this mistake by following these simple steps when GATE 2025 Correction window opens :

1. Visit the official website of GOAPS.
2. Login to the website using your enrollment ID or email address and password
3. After a successful login, you can choose the paper you wish to appear for in GATE 2025.
4. Make a choice and select the option carefully this time.
5. Hit the ‘Submit’ button after selecting your preferred subject, you will be redirected to the payment page. Entering the captcha will lead you to the payment page. 
6. Pay the fee for the GATE 2025 application correction and take the printout of the revised application form.
