Gate Application Form 2020:

Gate 2020 Application Form has been started online portal from 1st September 2019. It is a National Level entrance exam organised by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. This exam is conducted to offer admission to M. Tech. and M.Sc. courses in Engineering, Architect and Technology fields. From this exam candidates also get admission into various branches of PhD. 

The Registration form of GATE  is always released online in the month of September on the official website of GATE. Candidates who want to enrol for this exam should match the eligibility criteria. Applicants can register themselves through online mode at GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System). Before submitting the form, recheck your details.

If any case, the information is incorrect, then the application will be rejected. The organisation also provide the facility to make corrections in their application form. Recently IIT Madras has released the list of those candidates whose application form is not correct due to their ineligibility or duplicity of the form.

GATE Registration Form 2020:

Aspirants have to register and fill the registration form through online mode. The application process consists of Online Registration, filling out the application form, uploading of documents and payment of application fee. Also, aspirants have to upload the scanned copies of photograph, signature and documents which is required. Here are some steps followed by aspirants which need to apply for GATE 2020. 

The process to register the GATE Registration Form 2020 are given below:

Step 1. Candidates can Register at GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).

Step 2. Fill the complete details which are asked in the application form.

Step 3. After that, candidates can upload the required documents such as scanned Mark sheet certificate, photographs and signature.

Step 4. After uploading the documents, the next step is to pay the application fee.

Step 5. At last, download the PDF file of the application form.

Candidates must be careful with their documents while filling the registration form. The candidates need to upload the following documents which are given below: 

  • Class 10 and 12 marksheet certificates.
  • Scanned image of a photograph.
  • Scanned image of the signature.

Gate Registration Fees 2020:

Payments of GATE Registration Fee 2020 have to be made via online mode only. Aspirants can use either Net Banking or Debit card or Credit card. Also, aspirants have to pay additional online transaction charges or bank charges as per the prevailing norms.  In addition, these payments modes will be specified on the payment portal. Gate Exam 2020 New Changes:

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi will only allow GATE Exam 2020 and it allows candidates to apply for 1 subject paper, out of 25. Also, submitting multiple application forms is not allowed.  

The New Changes which is introduced for GATE Exam 2020 are given below:

  1. The entrance exam of GATE 2020 is introduced for 25 subjects. 
  2. A new paper is added in the syllabus and the new paper is Biomedical Engineering (BM).
  3. GATE Exam 2020 is conducted by IIT Delhi.   
How To Make Changes in GATE 2020 Exam Paper?
  • Go to the official website of GOAPS.
  • Log in to your account on the site using enrollment ID and password.
  • Once you log in, you will be able to make the correction according to your need for GATE 2020.
  • Click on the Submit button after choosing the fancied course.
  • After that, you will be redirected to the payment page. Enter the captcha. It will lead you to the payment page.
  • Pay the fees for changing the exam paper. It may vary from country to country.
  • Applicants can make the fee payment via credit card/net banking/ debit card/ UPI/ Wallet and Cash Card and International Card.
  • Aspirants will also have to pay the service tax and others in addition to the fee amount.
  • Successful payment of the fees will ensure changes in GATE 2020 entrance examination.

Application Process:-

The application form is available in the month of September on the official website of the GATE. Through this online platform, applicants are able to apply for GATE exam in just a few simple steps. Candidates are requested to keep their enrollment Id and password information.

  • Filling in Application Online-

To start the application for the GATE entrance exam, candidates are required to visit the website. Note that it can also be obtained from the official website of the GATE organising institute.    

  1. Registration:- Candidates have to register themselves for the exam by providing a valid email address, mobile number and a GOAPS password. All the latest notifications related to the GATE exam will be sent to this email address. Please note that a unique mail id is required by the candidates. One person would be able to register with individual email ID Address. The applicants are advised to give their personal mobile number because most of the important information is sent via SMS.
  2. GOAPS Password:- Aspirants will have to choose a password during Enrollment at GOAPS. The password must be remembered along with the GOAPS Enrolment ID which is required to log in to GOAPS. Students are recommended to choose a password that's hard to guess (it should not be the candidate’s name, date of birth, or some easily guessable string of numbers or letters like 12345 or abcd).
  3. GOAPS Enrollment ID:- Once aspirants register for GATE 2020, an email containing the GOAPS Enrolment ID will be sent to the candidates on the email id provided.
Mandatory Documents which are required to fill the Application Form (Indian Candidates):-
  • Before filling the form, write your personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parents name, parents mobile number, etc.) on a paper. Please note that the name of the applicant in the registration form must be exactly same as that in the qualifying SSC, HSC and degree certificate (or) the certificate issued by the Head of the Department/Institute in which the candidate is currently pursuing his/her study. GATE scorecard will be declared as per the name filled in the application form. Prefix/title such as Mr/Shri/Dr/Mrs/Smt, etc. should not be used before the name.
  • Address for Communication (including PIN code)

  • A High-quality image of candidate's photograph conforming to the specified requirements (File size should be between 2KB and 200KB)

  • Scanned copy of the Educational Certificate in pdf format (Degree Certificate or Provisional Certificate or Certificate from the Head of the Department/ Institute (Format specified in Appendix A of the Information Brochure) (The size of the file should be between 10 KB and 300 KB)
  • Scanned copy of Caste (SC/ST) certificate (if applicable) in pdf format. (The size of the file should be between 10KB and 300KB)
  • Scanned copy of PWD Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format (The size of the file should be between 10KB and 300KB)
  • Scanned copy of Dyslexia Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format (The size of the file should be between 10KB and 300KB)
  • Details of the valid Identity Document (ID) and the same ID, in original, should be carried to the Examination Centre.
  • Required the details of Net-banking/debit card/credit card for fee payment, Valid Identity Document: Passport/ PAN card/ Voter ID/ Aadhaar-UID/ College ID/ Employee ID/ Driving License
  • Application Filling: The GOAPS website allows aspirants to enter data, “Save” partially filled the form, “Logout”, and resume filling in by logging in again. The GOAPS portal is self-explanatory and user-friendly. Aspirants can also avail online help about using GOAPS on the official website.
  • Before making the payment, aspirants will be shown a “Preview” of their application, where they have to carefully check for any errors.
  • Once aspirants press “Confirm and Final Submit” button, they will not able to make further changes to the application in the future.
  • Problems in Login into GOAPS – In case, aspirants forgot their user ID or password, they will be required to follow the instructions on the GOPAS portal to retrieve them.
Online Net-Banking Payment Details:
  • The Aspirants need to visit the GOAPS website and click on the Payment option. After that, you will be redirected to the website of the Bank of your choice.    
  • Applicants will have to pay the fee through net-banking or debit card or e-challan.    
  • While trying to pay the fee, aspirants will be shown the fee amount and bank charges where they have to confirm that the payment is being done for GATE.
  • Once candidates confirm that the payment is successful, they will be redirected back to the GATE Online Application Website.
  • To check the status of Payment, login to GOAPS. Applicants can also check from the bank account.  
  • After successful payment, a “Fee Payment Number” will be generated. It is unique and must be saved by the applicants because it is required for later stages.
